Bougainvillea, the Blushing Beauty

Ah, bougainvillea! Who doesn't know this beauty? I still remember clearly, when I was little I often thought that its brightly colored flowers were crepe paper pinned by a naughty neighbor. How could there be such a bright flower? But that's the reality.

Wow, look at the combination of colors that steal the eye. It's really ticklish to see its branches twisting, circling, and hugging each other affectionately. Like a young couple dancing, not wanting to lose to their neighbors who are also swaying to the direction of the wind. Sometimes I think, maybe they are having a secret dance party every night!🙃

In my village, there were those who believed that bougainvillea could ward off evil spirits. Maybe because of its sharp thorns? But in my opinion, the evil spirits fled because they were dazzled by its colors that were too striking. Just imagine, ghosts who usually roam around in dark black robes, suddenly being treated to a sight as brilliant as this. They might even feel inferior first!

What I like most about this bougainvillea is its ability to remain stunning even in the long dry season. When other plants start to wilt and give in to the scorching sun, the bougainvillea is even more enthusiastic about showing off its beauty. What a prima donna!

I remember a funny incident. One day, a friend visited my house and was amazed to see the bougainvillea in the yard. She excitedly asked, "Wow, it's so beautiful! What fertilizer do you give it?" I, who had never cared for it at all at that time, could only grin and answer diplomatically, "Ah, it's naturally beautiful. No need for makeup!"

It's true what people say, true beauty doesn't need much care. Like this bougainvillea, which casually shows off its enchanting gradations of colors, making anyone who passes by definitely look twice.
