Field Update - First Harvests
Hello, Hive Gardeners! π¨βπΎ
This is my fourth post this year in the Hive Garden community. The last one was almost a month ago, when everything started to grow.

In the meantime, we were mainly preoccupied with watering due to the drought, but we were also at sea for 10 days.
So, it's time to update.
I'll start with potatoes. It has been more than 60 days since we planted them, and now the early potatoes should be ready for harvesting, if all has gone well. But it was not fine. It was attacked again by some disease, and by the time we were at sea, it had yellowed entirely and dried out. This does not mean that there will be no harvest, but that it will be less.
A month ago, it looked great.
Now, the photo is three days old, and it doesn't look good. The plants are yellow or withered, and only the weeds persist. The drought has done its work.
Now it will soon have to be picked up, otherwise it will rot.
We have picked some of it up from permaculture. I am not saying there are none, but the tubers are small.
And there were quite a lot of peas - 3 kilos. Of course, it still needs to be peeled.
The garlic has started to dry out; if this happens, it must be dug up because the cloves will not separate otherwise. So okay, I dug it up.
But it's not a surplus either.
The peppers are growing well, the eggplants are flowering, and one has already produced fruit.
We also picked some zucchini and cucumbers.
Tomatoes are good, for now. Maybe some cherry tomatoes will be ripe in a few days.
Waiting for the green beans. The low beans have started to flower, and the high beans are wrapping themselves around the sticks.
Based on my experience from previous years, this is our best soil for beans. For three years now, we have been producing over 20 kilograms of beans each, and this year, we have planted even more, so we expect another excellent harvest. But not until August.
I mustn't forget the pumpkins! Just because I'm taking part in the Hive Pumpkin World Championship organised by @der-prophet and @hive-world-champ.
Pumpkins grow great! We planted four seedlings on the veil and they are spreading nicely. One little one has already shown up, I think it's a Hokkaido.
As they are growing well, my wife and I planted four more seedlings on the other side of the field.
I had to mow a bit because it was full of weeds. Last year, not a single one performed well there, so we'll see if anything changes this year.
In the main, for now, I am satisfied, because, given the drought, it could have been worse.
However, I am most disappointed about the potatoes, as I already know they will be small and that there will not be a large crop. Everything else remains to be seen.
But the first crops have already been harvested.
Thanks for your attention!

Despite the challenges, it's inspiring to see your dedication and progress. Wishing you better luck with the next harvests!
Thank you! I hope there will be better and bigger, because that's all I know what I'm eating, and everything else from the shops is questionable.
I'm envious of your garden every year! I can't wait for garden fresh green beans!
Sending you some Ecency curation votes!
Thank you very much for your support! Yes, I'm waiting for green beans too, but I must wait at least three weeks. Maybe less because it's raining today, the first rain after a month of heat and dry.
I wish I had a garden! I live in a city apartment, fully exposed to the sun. Not even a single plant survives on my balcony. From spring to autumn, the temperatures rival the Arizona desert, then shift to something like Tunisia. Not even a Joshua Tree could make it here. My cat refuses to go outside during the day. She steps onto the scorching floor, looks at me like I'm mad, and walks right back in. She only ventures out at night. I'm truly envious!
Yes, I admit it can be frustrating when you live in the concrete jungle of a big city. I live in a small, very green town, and my field is less than a kilometer away. Here, everyone grows their vegetables. It's a pity that you don't have that option.
Heyy i am thinking to start something in agriculture sector I want to ask about how much the percentage of waste comes? and which type of vegetables are you growing.
Wow I love this farm and the veggies u harvest
It is nice to get the product during harvest time.
Fruit of your hard work
Peace
That's quite a big garden you have their. Nice harvest!
Cool to see so many insects pollinating your cucumbers?
Yes, there's a lot of place, we don't cultivate all the space, but it needs to be cleaned and mowed regularly.
That are bees I think, but I like the photo :)

Your garden is exemplary. Next year, I want to try harder to have a successful harvest too. Somehow, it's not working out for me this year.
But 50% of my pumpkins look magnificent.
