Field Update - Everything Grows!
Hello, Hive Gardeners! π¨βπΎ
This is my third post this year in the Hive Garden community. The last one was over a month ago, when we planted potatoes.
A lot has changed since then, so it's time to update.
Now, there is something to see. The vegetation is quite lush despite the dry conditions. I have a lot of photos but not so much text :)
I'll start with the potatoes because we planted them in the last post.
The photo below was taken three weeks ago.
And this past week. As you can see, I have also added bean poles on the right.
A permaculture experiment. On the left are peas, which have started to come up, and in the middle are potatoes, which I find fascinating because we didn't plant them here; they grew on their own from the peelings, as we had created a layer with organic waste that included potato peelings. And it sprouted. I am just wondering how big the tubers will be.
On the right-hand side is the cabbage, which is struggling with snails and other parasites.
The strawberries are fine, we have put straw on the ground and they seem to like it.
My wife and I also planted about 20 tomato plants, some under shelter and some without. Last year, we had fewer, but it was not a good crop, so hopefully, this year will be better.
Also, some peppers and eggplants, which until recently were under a veil.
The first radishes, which we usually eat raw in a salad, are pretty spicy :)
These are courgettes, and there is straw on the ground below.
I have also put up quite a few poles for the beans that are coming up, and some of them have already emerged from the ground.
Some beetroot. We planted quite a lot, it should be bigger, maybe it will grow some more.
And finally, pumpkins :)
I didn't "officially" enter the Hive Pumpkin World Championship organized by @der-prophet and @hive-world-champ, but I planted five pumpkin seedlings. Last year was more of a poor harvest, mainly due to weeds.
But this year, my wife and I tried something new: we planted pumpkins in the veil; we hope it will be better than last year.
Thanks for your attention!

keep up the good work
If i look at all the work you have done and still need to do this year , i'm verry happy with just having a balcony for now .
But then again the balcony doesn't produce fresh food ...

Yes, I also have a balcony, I whitewashed it for two days, today I'm just cleaning it up.
As for the field, it's true, it requires some effort, now that the drought is coming, it will be the worst because I will have to water it, and I have to pump the water from the river into my tanks before we go on vacation :)
But you've now officially used #hwc2025, so you're in now too. π
I wish you much success with your garden, and may your pumpkins grow like your Hive Wallet π
Thanks. Yes, I'm using a tag and hope this season will be better and pumpkins will grow to the moon! (And my Hive wallet, too) πππ€

It is a super beautiful to see the plants growing so healthy.
Nice to see the harvest product photos when time comes
Thank you
Currently, the plants appear healthy, but their condition could change rapidly. Since the drought of the last two weeks, there are no snails, which are the most significant pests here.
It seems that it's hot and dry in your place, the ground is cracking, especially where the beetroots are planted. Those green veggies are holding on, it seems that they still enjoy the dry weather. I hope everyone in the garden grows well. And look at those cute strawberries! May they yield more. And of course, the pumpkins! They're showing signs of better growth and good yield soon. I hope you join the pumpkin challenge again.
It's been nice to drop by your garden as I roam around the community.
Yes, there is a drought now, and it will probably continue for some time. I hope I don't run out of water and that they don't get any disease. The soil is clay, so it has cracked.
Pumpkins on black soil are not a good idea because they get too hot, and I saw the leaves drying out today. I will add straw around them.
The plants are holding on, I wish them the best. And also, may the rain comes so the thirsty garden will be quenched.
Beautiful Garden
