Beer Tasting 🍺 Viktor 🍺 Black Aurora

avatar

Hello, beer lovers! 🍻

How are you? Are you worried about our coin 🪙? Don't be afraid or panic; it's normal for prices to go up and down.
Focus on something else or buy. Now is your chance! It may not come again. (My opinion, not advice). 😜

On Saturday, I was busy with various activities all day, and after quite a while, I didn't manage to write a post for #beersaturday 434, so here it is now.
I had one Italian and one Slovenian bottle in the fridge, and I will gladly empty them and report back.

🍻 😎 🍻

First, one with less alcohol.

Viktor Export Lager

Brewed by Brouwerij Martens, Bocholt, Vlaams Gewest, Belgium, for the Italian food distributor Atlante Srl.
Bottle, 0.66 l, alcohol 4.00% ABV, IBU N/A. It's Dortmunder Export Lager style.

What do the Master Brewers say?

Viktor is a beer designed to accompany everyday moments: smooth flavour with malty notes and a light effervescence that invites sip after sip. Versatile and convenient, it's a reliable choice to drive movement and complete the beer category.

A Belgian brewery produced according to the instructions of an Italian importer who distributes beer to the Famiglia retail chain. I have never encountered such a combination before. I bought it because the price was very reasonable, €0.90.

The beer is a transparent orange color, with average foam that disappears quickly. It has no aroma. It goes down smoothly, with a slight sweetness of malt in the mouth and a minimal grainy, bread-like flavor.
There is a slight bitterness in the aftertaste that disappears quickly.

Drinkable beer and no surprises. Nothing special, a typical industrial beer for everyday drinking. I expected something like this, given the very reasonable price.
I had a tasting, and that was it. It definitely won't be in my fridge anymore.

🍻 😎 🍻

On Saturday, I spent the whole day working with apples because we were making apple juice. We finished late in the evening, so I didn't feel like writing a post for #beersaturday.

🍻 😎 🍻

And here's a bonus question: the first person to write the answer will receive 250 Ecency Points, which they can use to advertise their posts or give to a friend :)

In the background of the first photo, there are two vinyl records by two very famous rock bands. Which bands are they and what are the names of the albums? Yes, this question is more for older rockers :)
Write your answer in the comments.

🍻 😎 🍻

Pelicon Black Aurora

Brewed by Pivovarna Pelicon, Ajdovščina, Slovenia.
Bottle, 0.5 l, alcohol 6.2% ABV, IBU 40. Dark Ale style beer.

What do the Master Brewers say?

Black Aurora is a dark beer with chocolate tones, complemented by the aroma of the legendary Slovenian Aurora hops. This dark ale represents the culmination of all our knowledge to date, which is best demonstrated in the balance, drinkability, and roundness of this dark, chocolate-coffee brew.
The name Black Aurora is derived from barley malt and hops. In addition to light barley malts, it contains as much as 10% of various dark and special barley malts, including Black Patent Malt, after which it is named. The selection of barley malts gives the beer its color and all the flavors of bread, coffee, cocoa, and chocolate that we discover with every sip.

🍺

The beer is black, with a generous, creamy, and persistent head. It has a cocoa aroma. It goes down smoothly, with a slight malt sweetness followed by the dominant bitterness of hops, and notes of chocolate, coffee, and cocoa. However, nothing extreme stands out.
A slight bitterness lingers in the aftertaste for a while, then disappears completely.

A drinkable and delicious beer!
Everything is very refined and harmonious, without the burnt taste often found in dark beers. I'm not surprised they won two awards at the 2019 Central European Brewers Conference (CEBC) in Budapest—the best beer award and a bronze medal for the best English Porter. No gold or silver medals were awarded in this category. Source.
The price is quite steep, €3.60, but I'll definitely be adding a bottle to my fridge.

🍻 😎 🍻

And what am I listening to when writing this and tasting beer?
Something from Friday's New Tunes selection.

Wow! You have some real gems in vinyl!
Dire Straits - Communiqué

and The Shadows 20 Golden Greats!

What you tell us about making your own apple juice is excellent! Great!

As for the beers you showed us, the Slovenian one is the most appealing to me. The label design is interesting; it looks artisanal.

Cheers!
