Beer Tasting 🍺 MOB Saison IPA 🍻 Leffe Brune
Hello, beer lovers! 🍻
How are you?
Spring-like, almost summery weather outside, 24°C in the afternoon, and work in the fields.
At the end of the day, I happily treated myself to a beer. A beer, or two, for #beersaturday, number 459 in the series.

I have two bottles in front of me, one French and one Belgian. I’m ready to empty them and share the experience with you.
Let’s go!
Both beers have the same alcohol level.
MOB Saison IPA

Brewed by Moulins d'Ascq, Villeneuve-d'Ascq, Hauts-de-France, France.
Bottle, 0.33 l, alcohol 6.5% ABV, IBU N/A. Farmhouse IPA beer.
What do the Master Brewers say?
Aromatic blonde with tropical fruit notes.
This is the first time I’ve heard of this brewery.

The beer has a cloudy orange color, and the head is solid and long-lasting. It has a citrusy aroma. It goes down smoothly; on the palate, I detect a slight bitterness, citrus notes, and hints of coriander.
The aftertaste fades quickly.

A drinkable and tasty beer!
I was actually surprised by the mild bitterness; for an IPA, I expected more bitter flavors, but a farmhouse is a Belgian style - actually a hybrid between the Saison style (dry, complex yeast) and an IPA, which adds tropical aromas and bitterness. It’s not an IPA bomb, but it’s drinkable and balanced, without going to extremes. A friend brought it to me from France.
Leffe Brune

Brewed by Abbaye de Leffe, Leuven, Vlaams Gewest, Belgium.
Bottle, 0.33 l, alcohol 6.5% ABV, IBU 20. Belgian Brown Ale.
What do the Master Brewers say?
Leffe Brown’s soft, deep brown color and the perfect balance between a discreetly bitter yet slightly caramelized taste can be ascribed to age-old traditions. Hints of coffee and chocolate add an even more desirable flavor to this beer. The smooth, creamy beer head, the roasted aromas, and the spiced flavor can suspend time.
🍺

The beer is dark brown, with a solid, creamy head. It doesn’t have any particular aroma.
It goes down smoothly; in the mouth, I first taste the sweetness of caramel and a slight bitterness of coffee, along with hints of chocolate.
The bitterness of roasted malt lingers in the aftertaste.

A drinkable and tasty beer dominated by the sweetness of caramel and the roasted character of the malts. A traditional and comforting Belgian dark beer; it doesn’t go to extremes but is characterized by a balance of flavors, ideal for those who don’t like too much bitterness.
It’s available in most local stores here. Price – affordable, €1.80.

And what am I listening to when writing this and tasting beer? Something from Friday's #newtunes. The band I forgot.
