Beer Tasting Landgraf Schankbier and Perlenbacher Festbier

Hello, beer lovers! 🍻

What's new with you? Nothing special here, apart from quite a lot of heat. It was 31 degrees Celsius in the afternoon, and everything was glowing outside, so I hid at home in the shade and drank plenty of fluids, as we are advised to do in the media.
Not water, of course 😎, but beer, as befits #beersaturday, now 415 in a row.

I have two chilled cans, one German Fest beer and one Austrian Schank beer. That's the last I have left in the fridge, I'll have to get something new again before next time.

First, the one with less alcohol.

🍻 😎 🍻

Landgraf Schankbier

Brewed by Privatbrauerei Fritz Egger, Unterradlberg, Austria.
Can, 0.5 l, alcohol 4.0% ABV, IBU N/A. Schankbier, lager.

What do the Master Brewers say?

The premium draught beer is bottled for Delikatessa GmbH and sold in REWE Group stores (Billa, Merkur, Penny).

Yes, it was intended for a chain store because the brewery doesn't have it on the list. Bought at the Billa store, quite a bargain at €0.80.

The beer is a clear, yellow color, with an average head, and it has no discernible aroma. It goes down smoothly, with a slight bitterness in the mouth, followed by a hint of sweetness.
Everything disappears in the aftertaste.

The beer is drinkable; that's all I can write. Nothing distinctive, nothing special, just an ordinary beer to drink with a glass, which you can avoid if you have some other, better choice.
If you don't have, you're stuck with this one :)

🍻 😎 🍻

Perlenbacher Festbier

Brewed by Mauritius Brauerei za trgovsko verigo Lidl.
Can, 0.5 l, alcohol 5.5% ABV, IBU N/A. Festbier/Märzen style lager.

I have not seen anywhere what the brewers say about this beer.

The beer is clear, with an amber color, and the head is solid and creamy. It has no particular odour. The sip goes down the throat quickly and smoothly. On the palate, I taste a slight malty sweetness, hints of caramel, notes of bread, and a slight hop bitterness.
In the aftertaste, everything disappears.

A drinkable beer, but less expressive than the other festbiers I have tried so far. Solid, but nothing special. It is more suitable for everyday use than for special occasions. It's reasonably priced (€0.88) and can occasionally be found in local Lidl stores.

And if I were to compare it with the previous, I would always go for this one.

🍻 😎 🍻

And what am I listening to when writing this? Something from Friday's #newtunes
https://ecency.com/hive-193816/@seckorama/new-tunes-13-6-2025
A new French band, debuting with a video that's slightly psychedelic in the 70s style, featuring two songs; the second one is my favorite.

Rujen - Psychic Sister / Spider Silk

Cooling off with a tasty refreshing drinking this hot season is certainly the thing to do. Mine would have been soda or a fruit juice since I don't drink alcoholic drinks, I mean I once did but not anymore. Glad to know you're having an awesome weekend.

I have been over lagers quite a while since most available were boring and unremarkable. Plus, lagering an ale is a much more involved and time-consuming with not distinct improvement in the beer…at least for me. That said, I sample new ones when I see them in hopes of finding something special.

I would probs my go for the festbier too. A little more taste, sweetness and malt sounds like a great weekend beer.

I believe I tried this FESTBIER beer a few years ago, I don't know if it has the same flavor as beers produced outside of Brazil, but it is very tasty. From what I remember, it didn't produce as much foam, I believe it is a different formula.

Will I ever get to try all the beers you share here? I hope so! In Venezuela so few brands arrive, and usually the same ones, that I feel like I know only a sliver of the world. Cheers, my friend 🍻

When they say 'keep up your liquids' when it's hot, I'm not sure they mean beer, but it is more interesting than water.
