Beer Tasting: Dog Days Are Over APA and Petrus Blond

(Edited)

Hello, beer lovers! 🍻

How are you, wherever you are? It's raining heavily again here. It's hot and humid. I feel like I'm in some tropical monsoon area, but I'm at home in the South Central European Region, or, North Balkans, what do I know? Waiting for the rain to pass.
I probably won't go anywhere, because I have a few bottles cooling in the fridge for 422 #beersaturday.

Two bottles, one Belgian and one Croatian, are waiting for me. I will gladly empty them and share the beer experience.

🍻 😎 🍻

Dog Days Are Over American Pale Ale

Brewed by Bruman, Buzet, Croatia.
Bottle, 0.33 l, alcohol 5.5% ABV, IBU 35. APA style.

What do the Master Brewers say?

Unfiltered, unpasteurized light ale beer. Extremely fresh and drinkable beer. Citrus notes come from the American hops used. Only hops. No fruit was harmed in the brewing of this beer.

This brewery is new to me. I recently tried Brainfucker, but this is something else entirely.
They have a sense of humour, though :)

The beer is cloudy, golden in color, with abundant, creamy, and very persistent foam. It has a citrus aroma. It goes down smoothly, and the first thing I notice in my mouth is the intense bitterness of hops, which almost immediately gives way to a medium level of bitterness and citrus aromas.
The bitterness of the hops lingers in the aftertaste for some time.

It's very drinkable and refreshing. My only comment is that there was too much creamy foam that refused to settle. Otherwise, it's a delicious beer. It is available in Konzum stores in Croatia, priced at €1.90.

🍻 😎 🍻

Let's move on, another beer is waiting!

Petrus Blond

Brewed by Brouwerij De Brabandere, Harelbeke, Vlaams Gewest Belgium.
Bottle, 0.33 l, alcohol 6.5%, IBU 24. Belgian blonde ale.

What do the Master Brewers say?

If you combine the Belgian brewing tradition with carefully selected ingredients and a well-balanced palette of flavours, you get a blissful experience. Petrus Blond is a heavenly thirst-quenching beer with a touch of fruitiness. Delicate aromatic hops provide a subtle bitterness and a refreshing finish. For bon vivants who expect that little bit extra, even from an easily drinkable beer.

Nice. I have already tasted some beers from this brewery.

The beer is clear and golden in color, with a solid, creamy head. It does not have a particularly distinctive aroma. The first sip goes down smoothly, and I can taste the bitterness of the hops and the sweetness of Belgian malt with hints of fruit, perhaps apricot? At the same time.
The aftertaste slowly fades away, leaving only a slight bitterness.

Drinkable beer. Elegantly balanced bitterness and sweetness, the alcohol content is slightly higher, but not very noticeable.
I would say it's suitable for a rainy day like today.

I got it at Lidl for €1.65, in a pack of Petrus beers that they sell occasionally.

🍻 😎 🍻

And what am I listening to when writing this and tasting beer? Something from Fridays newtunes
One piece is one album, and a song lasts more than 40 minutes.

This sounds like a great beer for a rainy day! I love it when the hops hit first and then mellow out with citrus. Enjoy both bottles. cheers brother! 🍻

The “Dog Days Are Over” label is hilarious! 😂😂😂 I've never tried a Croatian beer before, but now I’m curious.
