Beer Tasting 5th Element ABA and Grif IPA
Hello, beer lovers! 🍻
I just returned from the island, and I'm back home. After three weeks of sunshine, it's raining here, but if you believe me, it suits me just fine.
I've gone from a hot 33 degrees Celsius to 23 degrees. And since I have time, I'll take the opportunity to taste a new beer for #beersaturday, 421 in a row.
A three-hour drive from Croatia, from the island of Pag, and I had two Croatian cans in my cooler (it runs on 12 V in the car) that caught my attention. They are still quite cold.
First, the one with less alcohol.
5th Element American Blonde Ale
Brewed by Pivovara Daruvar, Daruvar, Croatia.
Can, 0.5 l, alcohol 5.3% ABV, IBU 26. ABA style.
What do the Master Brewers say?
American Blond Ale, brewed in the style of a beer characterized by very high drinkability with an intense fruity aroma of special American hop varieties CENTENNIAL, CASCADE, and CHINOOK. Due to the use of a special type of top-fermenting yeast (ALE yeast), it is symbolized by the element of FIRE.
Ok, bring me fire! :)
The beer is amber in color, with average foam that disappears quickly. It has a fruity aroma. It goes down smoothly, developing a pleasant bitterness in the mouth, with aromas of various fruits and a hint of caramel.
A slight bitterness lingers in the aftertaste for some time.
A very drinkable and refreshing beer, precisely as the master brewers say! The Daruvar Brewery brews around 40 different beers, but I prefer the 5th Element Beer line because they are craft beers and usually very good.
They are also available in local Mercator, Tuš, and Spar stores, priced at €2.05. Occasionally, like today, one ends up in my refrigerator.
I'm late, let's move on!
Grif India Pale Ale
Brewed by Grif, Zagreb, Croatia. Microbrewery.
Can, 0.5 l, alcohol 6.0%ABV, IBU 50. IPA style.
What do the Master Brewers say?
IPA is a beer that will surprise all the senses every time, whether because of its golden yellow color or the intense aroma of tropical fruit and citrus brought by the Strata and Idaho 7 hops. A rich, creamy body balances the pronounced bitterness of the Grif India Pale Ale style. Thanks to the skill of our master brewers, beer lovers can now close their eyes and enjoy the tropical pleasures that this new flavor brings.
The beer is cloudy, golden in color, with a solid, creamy head. Even from a distance, it smells of tropical fruits. It goes down smoothly, and I can taste the intense bitterness of hops, which dominates the tropical flavors of citrus and mango.
The bitterness lingers in the aftertaste for a long time.
A drinkable and tasty beer. A very distinctive IPA, full of bitterness, mango, and lime. I don't need to go to a tropical island; I have everything I need right here. A classic IPA, as if someone had hit me over the head with a hammer of bitterness :) 😵💫
Available in Croatia, in Konzum and Plodine stores, price €2.55. I regret not buying a few more cans to take home, but I will do so shortly.
And what am I listening to when writing this and tasting beer? Nothing from Fridays #newtunes, I took a break, now I'm listening to what I consider to be the best band from the former Yugoslavia.

The Grif can is very beautiful. What does the image of that potter mean? The artisan thing? I wish more foreign beers would arrive in my country!! I think it would be like you: I would try a different one every week. 😎Good music, as always. Greetings, friends.
I don't know what the image means, but it also features the inscription "Kap Vještine," which translates to "A drop of skill" in English. They probably associate brewing beer with the same knowledge and experience required for making handmade clay products. Let's say that's the explanation :)
They both look good, and different too!
Both were quite good, but I wouldn't drink more than one IPA, while I would have another Blonde Ale right away :)

What an awesome beer adventure! 🍻 Both sound so tasty, especially that Grif IPA with mango and lime notes—wow! I like how you explain the flavors so clearly. It's so interesting! 😄 Cheers to more great brews and chill vibes!
Thank you. I've tried a lot of beers, maybe even too many. 😎🍻
