St Catherine's Chapel and Almshouses - Exeter - Monomad Challenge
Hail to the Hive!
Took a drive into Exeter yesterday with @diveratt as he wanted to buy some air tags for his luggage before our upcoming trip to Egypt. Perhaps our lost luggage adventure was the inspiration. After we parked up we wandered into the centre of Exeter and i noticed this old ruined building.
Built in 1457 to house the poor the St Catherine's Chapel and Almshouses are still partially standing in the centre of town. Apparently the real damage was done in 1942 when after an air raid the burned down.
I found it impossible to pass without taking some snaps from around the place. The sky was beautiful as a backdrop and the light was perfect for a spot of monochrome magic.
It made for a nice distraction taking the shots. A plane in the sky reminding me of our recent trip back from Jamaica and our upcoming Egyptian adventure coming up.
A peek through the old window to see Exeter Cathedral looming in the background.
I like rocking up on unexpected finds during the day while doing chores and shopping errands. Breaks up the mundane and gives a bit of pause for thought.
Exeter might be worth a bit more exploration me thinks.

The atmosphere is truly antique. With the look of this, I want to believe the place really have interesting history
Yes it is a very very old building that sadly because of bombing during the second world war caught fire. Its good they are still preserving it
Arigatou @brumest and all the @qurator team!
I do like Exeter, there are lots of old interesting buildings and they have integrated things well into the newer developments.
