Return to Giza - Monomad Challenge

Hail to the Hive!

Upon returning to Cairo we were back in Giza and the lure of the Pyramids was too great so another wander around was absolutely necessary. It’s impossible to soak up four and a half thousand years plus of history in a morning, I mean they are constantly unearthing new information about these amazing structures.

I could happily visit here every day for months as the more you look and the longer you are around them the more incredible it all seems.

As previously I had so e great results with #monochrome I had it in mind when taking pictures on this particular morning and tried to get some shots that lent themselves to the stone, shadow and texture of the place.

To be honest I find it incredible that you are actually still permitted to wander about so freely and so closely to them. I pretty sure if they were located anywhere in Europe or America being able to walk around and in between them would not be allowed.

I’m not complaining though as being able to get these peek a boo, ‘ oooh look a pyramid’ shots from behind other stone blocks or smaller pyramids made for some excellent captures. I have so many more but I’ll save some for another time as I want to take my time going through them all.

I want to go back already. I am missing Egypt 🇪🇬. Somamazing on so many levels.

Love a bit of #monomad 😜

No, I hope to visit Egypt someday. In the meantime, I'll settle for being able to see this kind of photo and read about its history. Undoubtedly, it is a magnificent place.

Thanks @thekittygirl . I was very pleased with a lot of the pics from Egypt but this place was amazing to wander around and capture stuff. I still say its kind of hard not to take a good photo here though.

I find them all pretty fascinating. There so much they still don't know about them.

Are other buildings planned? Do you prefer natural beauty or man-made beauty?

I like both man made and natural for different reasons. Being in nature is awesome and great for the soul. Buildings like these which are over 4500 years old are inspiring and mind boggling. So I like both
