Getting High on Jamaica 🇯🇲
Hail to the Hive!
This will be the last shots from my series of flights w8th the DJI mini 2 over the area where we are staying. These flights have served mostly as practice flights but have also enabled me to capture some beautiful images of the surrounding area.
I have chuckled to myself a few times as I notice someone wandering down the street who suddenly realises that the distant buzzing isn’t a huge insect and becomes aware a drone is above somewhere…but where?
I still can’t get over the fact that I can see the sea from here but I guess it really shouldn’t be that surprising considering Jamaica is an Island and the nearest town is Savannah la Mar. Savannah la mar literally translates to ‘ plain by the sea’ but nevertheless it still makes me smile that I can see it from here.
The huge green spaces and green mountains in the background Are truly beautiful and worth each flight I take. Using the flat rooftop to now launch from has enabled me to send the drone much further and capture shots I otherwise wouldn’t have dared get.
Navigating home now without using the return to home is no problem either ( no problem mon) as I have become familiar with the roof tops and houses in the area having done a few dozen missions over the scheme.
Not a bad aerial playground all in all.
Hopefully the neighbors haven’t been too anoyed with the distant buzzing but seeing as how the sound systems are usually pumping out some loud tunes I doubt they will be too fussed.
I’ll miss this spot for flying when we are gone but it’s sparked a desire to get more flying done in other locations as soon as possible.
