Exciting Times Lay Ahead & Deep Below -Thoughtful Daily Post
Hail to the Hive!
Yesterday I completed all the flight booking for the upcoming Egypt trip and to say I’m getting excited about getting back into the water is a bit of an understatement. I have to confess I got a bit burned out with the old scuba malarky running the dive shop back in the Philippines but was lucky enough to have @diveratt as a neighbour to slope off and occasionally dive with, just the two of us, no students or guests. Those dives helped remind me why I got into it all in the first place. They kept the thread for me alive.
I am buzzing now I know it’s all completely booked and actually happening. I’ve reassembled my gear and today I am going through old underwater videos I took ( and lifting some stills for this post) and feeling the child like excitement build up in me. I’ve not watched them in a while as I thought I’d lost interest but find myself smiling while watching, which is what inspired this post.
It’s nice to be rekindling my interest in something I dearly loved for such a long time and introduced so many others to over the years.Time to focus on my energy for a change. I spent so much time, effort and energy ensuring others enjoyed this environment to the max that somewhere along the way my love of it was lost. Burn out is real. I found myself with so little time to actually go diving and yet was surrounded by happy divers. Part of me grew to dislike the dive conversations in the evening and as as much as I was running the show I somehow didn’t feel part of it anymore. It was a strange situation I had found myself in, a victim of my own success.
So now after a brief hiatus and completely different adventure over the last 2 years Incan feelmit is time. The deep is calling and it’s the right moment to dive in again ( literally) and reacquaint myself with the underwater realm. I’ll be accompanied by my friend @diveratt and we can spend the days diving and evening talking about it, yes I can finally engage in dive talk again! That will raise an eyebrow or two as I used to joke at the dive shop bar that ‘the first rule of dive shop is we don’t talk about dive shop’ haha but that’s about to change.
So I now only have to wait until next month and that gives time to sort out the last few bits and bobs that need to be organised. Then back to exploring the deep again, this time with a big smile on my face😄. No bookings no students no dive schedule to organize, just dive!
I’d almost forgotten what it was like to be truly excited about stuff, and it feels good.
Looking forward to it immensely!
Have you ever lost interest in something you once loved? Let me know in da comments below ⬇️
Beautiful shots you have there dude! I never really got into scuba diving as I dont like to be under water that much but with snorkeling I also have found some of these moments and that just feels really good (okay I alo love to be on the water with sailing and kitesurfing as well)
You can still see an amazing amount of stuff snorkelling. My old boss used to kite surf and one of my old instructors has just taken it up. I had one lesson and it’s something I’d love to do more of
Thanks guys!
@scubahead,
You bet, brother! Along with my Moderator @stayten, this is pretty much my manual baby. No automation here... just little old me! Reading every post... giving a little upvote, a reblog, and usually, adding my "Thank You" graphic. I can't give those big supporting votes. But to me... it's the thought that counts... ya know? I can say this... your photos are outstanding!! Curious about what device you use to take them. Share with us man!!
I'm not going to leave a "use sources" lecture lol. You've been around long enough to know what's up. I am just curious if you are using some specialized "Underwater" gear...
I am going to let you go... dinner time, and I am starving!! Thanks again, brother...
Love and light...

Would you believe its just a gopro 5 in a underwater case. They are remarkably good quality and easy to use. Not as bulky as the stuff i used to take underwater over 15 years ago.
I appreciate the personal touch too mate. It makes the blockchain a much better place bro, believe me
Massive thanks @wesphilbin and all at @innerblocks 😃.
@scubahead,
