Ancient Egyptian Sunsets….well almost.

Hail to the Hive!

Our hotel views in Cairo were nothing less than spectacular and exactly why we have decided to spend a few days back there after our Sinai excursion.

These are a sample of the sunset views from the rooftop restaurant with the desert sands in the air dispersing the colours beautifully.

The hotel doesn’t serve beer ( which is an essential component in any great sunset viewing) but would happily send out for some or let me bring my own in. Phew, disaster averted.

One thing I observed every evening at this time was the lack of speaking during these moments. People, myself included, completely lost in thought, gazing at these ancient wonders with a million questions needing answering and imagination running wild.

It’s one thing to look at images in a book or on the television but it is quite different when laying eyes upon them yourself.

And as I sip my beers I wonder about ancient Egyptians sipping on their ancient beer, perhaps also watching this same sunset over 4000 years ago ( and yes they did make beer 🍺 😉). Hmmm It makes me wonder what ancient Egyptian beer would have tasted like .mmmmmmm beeer.

Man if you threw a beer in the foreground, you could come up with one hell of an exotic #beersaturday post!

Those shots are stunning. Almost makes me feel life we are in Indiana Jones and waiting for the sun to cast its light through a gem on a staff to reveal a secret treasure room.
