#Beersaturday, visit to Canyon Club Brewery

avatar

Before getting to the brewery I want to start with a dumb thing I did Friday night. I went to our local liquor store to get a six pack of beer. Being that I am always looking for something new I glanced over all the beers and noticed a brewery I had never heard of before, called New Best Day Brewing. So I grabbed it since it was a Hazy IPA. When I got home I was looking forward to trying a new IPA.

I opened my first Best Day Brewing Hazy IPA and was very surprised by the lack of hop flavor for it being an IPA. I continued drinking the beer and was thinking this doesn't even really have any malt flavor, it reminded me of seltzer water with beer flavoring. I examined the can to see if it talked about what ingridients were used in the brew. I couldn't believe I did not see the fancy writing under the HAZY IPA that states "Non-Alcoholic". I missed the label and spent $20 on a six pack of beer flavored seltzer water. I was very disappointed.

So I was really looking forward to my #beersaturday since my wife and I were going for the first time to a brewery we recently found. The brewery is called Canyon Club Brewery and is located in Moraga California, not far from my house.

The brewery has a huge outdoor area and a smaller indoor area. Being it was cold outside we choose to sit inside.

Many people braved the cold and were sitting outside. We ordered some lunch and beers. I of course started with an IPA since my Friday night IPA was so disappointing. The IPA was called "Roads of Pearpetual Construction". The IPA was made with pear juice which accents the hop forward IPA well. Many IPA beers have a tropical fruit flavor or citrus flavor so the pear was different but very good. The beer was 8% ABV so it was strong and had a hazy look to it.

I had a fried chicken sandwich with pepper aioli while my wife had fish and chips and we shared a pretzels.

I had a second beer and this time I tried another IPA called "Solid". This IPA was 6.3% ABV and was clean looking in the glass. Solid was an easy drinking IPA which I really enjoyed. It was brewed with Strata hops and just a good basic IPA. Since we were going to be headed home I decided to get two 4 packs to go. One of the four packs was the beer called Solid and the second was another IPA called Celestial Spray. I have not tried the Celestial Spray yet and maybe I'll put that in my next post. I was happy to have beers to take home that I knew were not tasteless like the non alcoholic mistake I made the night before.

The overall expeirence was great and look forward to returning hopefully during some warmer weather, because the outdoor area was nice. I always enjoy new breweries and Canyon Club Brewery had numerous beers to include 5 different IPA's so I look forward to trying some of the other beers they have.

Hopefully everyone enjoyed their weekend as much as I did.

Your LasseCash tokens are still waiting for you. Collecting them is free.

Go to lassecash.com, log in with your Hive wallet (Keychain, PeakVault or HiveAuth — the same one you use for Hive) and press Claim. One click, one signature, done.

Please do it before 30 September. Until then your tokens earn from the day you collect them. After 30 September you still get all of them, but they stop earning. From 29 December they slowly start to shrink, and after 29 March 2027 they can no longer be claimed at all — so sooner really is better.

One thing that confuses everyone, explained properly this time. LasseCash now runs on MAGI, and MAGI has no fees. Instead, every account gets a free energy allowance (the site calls it RC). That free allowance is enough to collect your tokens. But it does not stretch much further — if you try to post or stake right after collecting, it may say you have run out, and it takes about five days to refill. The fix is simple: keep one or two HBD in your MAGI wallet. It is not a fee and it is never taken from you — it just sits there, works as your energy, and you can withdraw it whenever you like.

The admin keys burn on 10 October, as promised. After that nobody can change anything on the core, including me.
