New Snowy Abstract Photos

While out on the walk with Quill dog yesterday, I kept seeing little abstract scenes that called to me. They were hard to shoot, because every time I would get my camera out and point it at something, Quill would run up to see what I was looking at and destroy the smooth snow. I'm used to this game so if I work fast, I can get a few shots off before he notices.

These were all handheld with the Canon 5DS R and a 24-105mm lens. I've mentioned before that abstracts are never really my best sellers, but I always enjoy shooting them. It's a very care free, fun, and creative way to hunt for images. What do you think?

Yup, he's got to get in the shot. It's like he was trained by a photographer or something...

And a couple more along Prosser Creek.

I really like all the layers in this last photo. Many different looks to the H20, all in one spot.

Thank you for looking and I hope you are all having a great day!

Great job as abstract outdoor photography can be a fun and visually interesting process. You managed to capture unusual images with unusual perspectives and angles. Often times, these photos are not always to be seen, but offer an unusual look at natural landscapes, everyday objects, and even the stark pattern of a place. This offers an inspiring opportunity to explore the limits of visual language.

You can tell that you have taken time to explore, examining light, angles, and materials with a focused and mindful perspective. The use of environmental objects helps transform what people normally see as a picturesque scene into a strangely disconcerting image. Light is an important component and allows for capturing unique images, creating patterns, contrasts, shadows, highlighting some parts of the image while keeping others in the dark, and using incident light to create intentional ambiance.

I definitely explore a lot here in the Tahoe area, and yes, it gives me a lot of time to examine things more closely. The light was a fun component that day indeed. Thank you and have a great day!

Thank you @rubencress. You should see Quill in person, big time attention hog.

That would be mad! I'd shake that paw, as long as he doesn't eat my food :p
