Last Night's Milky Way At Donner Lake

It was another beautiful night last night, under the stars here in Truckee, California. All signs were pointing to having an incredible Milky Way show with little to no clouds and the moon below the horizon, so the sky was dark and clear. Here are a few photos I captured at Rainbow Bridge and along the shore of Donner Lake. Stay tuned.... I also shot some at Lake Tahoe, but I still need to work on those.

Shot with a Canon R5 MarkII and a 15-35mm lens. The ISO was 2000 for all of the shots, the lens aperture was f/2.8, and the shutter speeds were 15 seconds. A headlamp was used in all three shots in order to light of the foreground a bit. And of course, a tripod was used.

I took a little video clip of the fun while out there:

Thank you for looking and I hope you all have a stellar day!

Great shots! I've gotta up my milky way and northern lights game. We have pretty dark skies but are relatively low elevation. I need to research some place to hike up to for viewing/pics
