Icy Abstract Photo. What Do You Think It Looks Like?
I was lucky to get out again today on the cross-country skis for a little exercise at Donner Lake, here in Truckee, California. While out, I decided to ski over to Coldstream Pond, to see what I could see. There were some interesting cracks in the ice that that had frozen back over. I really liked the look of this scene on the pond. I know what I think it looks like, but what do you think it looks like???
Shot with the Canon 5DS R and a 24-105mm lens. The ISO was 160, the lens aperture was f/18, and it was a fast 1/200 of a second exposure. When I shoot handheld, I like to have a nice fast shutter speed, it helps the image be a lot sharper and look better as a big print.
Here's a look at the whole frozen pond. I'm not sure if the ice was thick enough to walk on, but I certainly wasn't going to find out...
Thanks for looking and I hope you are all having a great day!

Nice clicks and quote for you. " A person who lives close to nature does not grow old quickly". @scottshots
I like it! I feel like I've been getting older rapidly these days, but I will try to keep this in mind. Thanks!
Don't overthink. you are still young and dedicated to your work. just keep it up.
At first I thought that was a drone shot from above rather than a pond! Looks beautiful!
Ah, yes! I can see that. But nope, it was shot from ground level. Glad you liked that!
The cracks on the frozen pond looks stunning in the photos, I mean that attractive icy whiteness. Thanks for sharing and have a nice day.
I always love the icy whiteness of a frozen pond. It's a great look, and glad you liked seeing that!
This place as it is will be liked by all people because natural things are good for us and we are very happy to visit here but if we have to go to such a place we have to travel for 10 hours.
Ouch, a 10 hour drive is a long one. I now live an 8 hour drive from where I grew up and where most of my family lives. But there is so much natural beauty up here, I love it!
Yeah very long drive.
Hmmm I'm wanting to see an octopus or squid but not quite getting there 🤔
Ah, nice!

Perhaps I had been getting too much exercise and was seeing things... But I saw an abstract version of a tree, more specifically, a bonsai tree.
You always come up with something different mate :)
Thanks! I try...
Wow how were you able to take this shots. High creativity and I admire you for that
I am always looking for things that catch my eye. And I try to always have my camera with me... Glad you like this!
This is a very beautiful shot and it evokes serenity, tranquility. Indeed living at that end should give you all these feelings and more.
Your pictures are always amazing
I admire the creativity you add to this one
