I remember @savvytester asking me to remove my votes on most Hive Proposals about 2 days ago, that I forgot until I saw your reply to their comment on #HiveEngage. š¤Æ
I still like to use the #Ecency frontend despite all its technical problems, but the ~400 HBD being asked per day and still no major bug fixes (and new bugs appearing roughly every month) seems high enough, especially with the price of the HIVE token being near its all-time low (ATL). šø The same goes with #PeakD and other popular Hive frontends, and projects such as #HiveKeychain and #HiveBuzz. 𤯠PeakD and Hive Keychain are good Hive apps, but each separately asking for at least 600 HBD seems a lot. šø We (including @savvytester) have been talking about good Hive apps deserving funding after they become available for public use and are FOSS. š§āāļø A Hive app that finally releases an updated FOSS reproducible build (for Android and Linux) however would make me vote again for their proposal even if they ask for a lot of funding in return. š
I literally just removed my votes on all Hive Proposals, except the Return Proposal and the other Proposal you mentioned which will burn 10,000 HBD every 3 days by sending them all to the null account if passed. š¤ I would still try to keep my Hive Witness Votes at 30, with priority for those below the Top 20. š
There might be another (very) !WILD proposal (soon) in the future, which when passed will literally empty all the HBD in the DHF in just a day. š¤Æš¤ A less "wild" proposal would be what @savvytester mentioned on the parent comment on your reply there, which is to use the DHF to buy and burn HBD after careful planning. š
I didn't expect to make a long comment such as this (which I haven't done in several months). 𤯠You (and a few others who may read this comment) may say that this comment deserves its own post, but some might criticize this (and get flagged, !HOPEfully not). š¤Æ
Well, I'm glad that you saw it then.
Yes, I agree with that on all points. The amount being paid for such slow progress does not add up.
I still have to go an remove my support from most as well.
Both ideas sound great to me.
Yep, it's a book, but it's OK, you had a lot to express, so I understand. šššāØš¤

I want to say again that it's better for Hive project teams to first shoulder expenses for their app development, hosting, maintenance, and communication (among others), then create Hive proposals asking for (enough) compensation !INDEED. š§āāļø
I wonder how often you notice the Hive account that is run by a bot which curates all comments (and posts) of Hive accounts that have voted for the Return Proposal and have not voted for the "spam fighter" proposal. š¤Æ
I also wonder which (influential) person here on Hive would start such conversation right here on the Hive blockchain (as a post) about creating a Hive Proposal which will either quickly burn most or all the funds on the Decentralized Hive Fund or one that will use the HBD funds to buy and burn HIVE tokens. š¤

Yes, after watching how it has often been done over time, I agree with that. Give, then receive, not the other way around.
I haven't noticed it actually, since I haven't voted for the Return Proposal yet.
That's a good question, but at this point I'd love to see it, and quite soon. šššāØš¤

I wonder what would make you vote for the Return Proposal, as voting there would help increase the threshold for all "real" Hive Proposals to get funded, and therefore help with saving HBD from the Decentralized Hive Fund. š¤
It would be surprising if one Hive Witness from the Top 20 would initiate that talk. š¤Æš

Part of the reason is that I don't want to make it any harder than it is for projects to get funded, but the projects should also not ask for ridiculous amounts of funding, and they need to be bloody verbose in how they're using it, and the timelines involved. Since the whales control the voting anyway, my puny vote wouldn't make much difference yet.
Agreed. šššāØš¤

Thanks for the explanation! š¤ In my case, I just vote for any Hive Witness or Hive Proposal (including the Return Proposal) which I like to support, even if my vote is way below 1% of a Hive Whale's vote, not to mention multiple Hive Whales !INDEED. š¤Æš

You got it, you're most welcome. That's good, and that's what I was doing up to this point. šššāØš¤

Perhaps more people on Hive (especially new ones and those who have little Hive Power) should be encouraged anyway to vote for their preferred Hive Witnesses (and Hive Proposals), as multiple Redfishes and Minnows (and Dolphins) can match or even surpass one or more Hive Whale's votes !INDEED. š§āāļø

True, and indeed, though it would take a heck of a lot of redfish and minnows, even dolphins too, to even come close to whale votes. š š š ⨠š¤
