Roman Coffee

Not all coffee formulas are the same. Some mixes call them one way in one place and another way in a different place. When I was fifteen years old, my grandfather told me that the journalists from the local newspaper used to get together to talk and have coffee. He told me that one of them ordered his espresso with a slice of lemon instead of sugar. At that time I was very young and I thought that I would never dare to try it that way, but many years later I changed my mind.

The previous two days it has been raining a lot in Playa del Carmen, but that didn't stop me from going into the sea for a while, after all I didn't think I would miss the opportunity. The water was very cold and the sun barely peeked out from time to time. After a while my throat started to hurt and to top it off I decided to have a very cold beer. I was about to take the second when my wife asked me to join her for coffee. It was when I remembered the Roman coffee that my grandfather had told me.

-A Roman coffee- I told the waiter. He asked me to dictate the formula because it wasn't on the menu. It was when it occurred to me to like rum to the formula being as follows:

1 ounce of rum
The juice of half a lemon
A cup of espresso

The result was sensational. The aroma of coffee in the company of rum was exciting and the lemon juice added an incomparable flavor. It was a whole party of smells and flavors that were also very calming.

That's very interesting. This is the first time that I've heard of a Roman coffee. Sounds good 👍

The sour flavor with the coffee is amazing. Have you tried adding milk to it, it will taste delicious.

What kind of coffee it's better, with or without sugar? I prefer it with little cinnamon, it's great

Most of the time I don't add sugar, but when I add cinnamon, I also add piloncillo, this is called pot coffee.

I didn't know it, a friend of mine used to add brandy to his coffee every morning.
But I have not combined it with alcohol, I am sensitive to caffeine, now with alcohol, it does not attract my attention.
But thank you for sharing it, it is a very interesting recipe, and your post is very illustrative.
