Happy Holi - The Festival of Colours
Let's celebrate the triumph of good over evil, the arrival of spring, and the strengthening of our relationships on this chain.

Holi, the Festival of Colours is a very special vibrant festival in our culture and is celebrated across India to symbolize the burning of negativity and the joy of new beginnings, love, and unity. It originates from the legend of Lord Krishna, who applied color to Goddess Radha's face, to remove the fair complexion arising from Radha's fair skin compared to his blue skin. Since then, it is celebrated to symbolize the playful, divine love between them.

For us, its a very special festival and is a time to forgive, mend broken relationships, and foster a sense of brotherhood, with people coming together to celebrate, regardless of their background and these vibrant colors brings lot of positivity, representing the diversity of our life.

Unfortunately, I am not celebrating this year as I have just recovered from Anaphylactic shock, a fatal allergic reaction (more to come on that...) but I could not stop the excitement of kids to go and enjoy this great festival with their friends. So yesterday we went to the market nearby and brought various water colors that are safe to play.

Unlike crackers, we don't have much restrictions from the authority on these shops, so we need to be careful to choose safe colors only, so that it does not harm the kids. Every year, I use to go to safeguard them, but this year, it's a complete ban for me - you really can't hold or stop people to apply colors on you, once you go there. So this year, it's only our daughter who went out, even the boy has not gone to play because all his friends are not here.

Wish you all a vibrant Holi, with sweet and colorful memories, may this color festival bring you happiness and prosperity to your life.

Bloody hell Sanjeev, take it easy and I hope you are fully recovered.
I love seeing all the Holi colours and it seems such a happy festival. Happy Holi
Thank you, keeping all the energy for next year :)
Happy Holi sir 🎉
Happy Holi...
Colour is life
definitely lot of colors, and a lot of toys! i agree one needs to be very careful on what he picks because chemical colors can be harmful
What a beautiful and meaningful celebration of colour you have there, and I think that's really true, colours signify joy, love and good energy in everything, in things, people, relationships between them, and that should always be encouraged.
I love seeing so much colour in your photographs and everything you see there in that market. I'm sorry about what happened to you. Take good care of yourself so that you can enjoy it fully next year. That tradition is beautiful. Thank you very much for sharing it here on Hive. Hugs!

Thank you so much, it's the most celebrated festival in India and its pure joy to be part of it.
I was delighted to hear about this celebration, it's lovely!
Happy Holi
Happy Holi Mate.
Wow, those are some intense colors! I wish the US had more holidays like this that focus on the more personal abstract things versus all the material and broader spectrum things we normally see.
Ya, this festival is very special and joyful.
Esa celebración se ve genial , los colorantes muy intensos y llamativos
Actually if you should ask me, this is the type of festival that I always want to always attend
I've heard so much about this festival and always found it a very interesting and beautiful tradition. Here in Ecuador, the Pawkar Raymi (Flowering festival) is very similar, though no color throwing. But there are flowers and color everywhere, and foam and water and flower are thrown at everyone, all the time. It's a beautiful thing and Lily enjoyed it thoroughly this year, as there was a huge foam cannon:
Sorry to read about your anaphylactic shock. Glad it wasn't fatal, and I hope that you recover quickly and completely!
