Ganesh Chaturthi or Vinayak Chaturthi is a major Hindu festival that we celebrate every year at the society community hall. It's a very important festival for kids and students especially, to seek the blessings of the Lord of Wisdom and Intelligence. Do you know Lord Ganesh wrote the epic Mahabharata non-stop with 100,000 verse ? He was the only one chosen for this divine task for his wisdom and skill and there was a deal between both - Vyasa should narrate continuously without stopping and Lord Ganesha should write without stopping but before writing, he must ensure that, he understands each verse. While writing continuously, his writing stylus broke and to honor his commitment of not stopping, the Lord broke one of his elephant tusk and used that as a pen. These stories from our culture gives a very strong message to the society to value wisdom and commitment.

Let me present you some photographs of our celebration, it's always a fun to celebrate in a community.

Our ladies always rock, taking charge of all these activities and ensure a smooth celebration. They published the schedule in our society group chat before hand so that people could join timely and take part in all the rituals. We were a little late but still pulled in at the right time.

And I love the taste of the coconut burnt in the ritual - that's a special treat available only in these festivals. Here is a small video compilation as a memoir :

May Lord Ganesh bless us with wisdom, joy and prosperity.

As usual, you and your people look wonderful and happy. Cultural and religious gatherings are supposed to be for the celebration of virtues like wisdom and prosperity for all. So great to see yet another reason to enjoy company together and keep creating new beginnings.

Blessings old friend.

Did the tusk grow back or did it just stay broken?

It stayed broken - that is why he is also called Ekdanta - having one teeth.

Your culture is excellent, which allows for celebrating a festival to eliminate all obstacles in the path of young people. Also, I can see the reason why that GOD is so venerated.

Writing 100,000 couplets continuously requires superhuman talent. The festival looks very enjoyable.

I won't tire of repeating how wonderful your culture is. You also worship your Gods at all times, and now for the students. A question that caught my attention was about burning the coconut. Thank you so much for sharing your photographs and the video of the celebration, my friend.

Happy Ganesh Chaturthi
