Monument to Jose Marti, Havana, Cuba // Monomad challenge

The first of these photos is one of my favorite pieces of work. When I took it, I was just someone interested in photography, and to be honest, I never thought I’d devote myself entirely to it. It’s not that there’s anything particularly striking or special about it (the first photo); it’s just a photo that I really like.
I think the day I took this photo was when I stopped to realize that we almost always photograph the front of what we see. I suppose it’s because that’s what helps us identify what we’re seeing, and that limits us a lot, because we don’t get to observe all the details of our surroundings, especially in the case of sculptures, which are meant to be enjoyed from every angle.
The other photos were taken at a different time; I was trying to replicate the first image a bit, but I couldn’t quite pull it off. In photography, every moment is definitely unique.
