I am actually new here, my first time to post here and am so excited 😊.

Cocoyam (Ikpong) is an important starchy staple food, it is very rich in carbohydrates, dietary fiber, vitamins, and minerals.

It is a source of energy, aids digestion, supports the immune system, and contains antioxidants that can help prevent chronic diseases.

In Southern Nigeria, cocoyam can be prepared in various ways in Akwa Ibom, such as boiling, frying, or mashing, smoking and its tender leaves are also consumed as vegetable.

Cocoyam contains;
Carbohydrates
Fiber
Vitamins
Minerals
Antioxidants.

Cocoyam -Ikpong can be cooked as soup we call it afia efere always very delicious πŸ˜‹.
