A Trip to Saree: Welcoming the Beauty of the New Bridge and the Mountains of Aceh Besar

While traveling through Saree, Aceh Besar, Indonesia, I took a moment to stop at a bridge that offered a stunning view of lush greenery, majestic mountains, and a newly built road stretching into the distance. The surrounding trees added to the natural beauty, partially hiding the nearby residents’ houses and creating a peaceful, secluded atmosphere. This brief stop became a calming and meaningful pause in the midst of my journey.

As seen in the photo above, this place is a mountainous area with green rice fields against a backdrop of blue mountains and a beautiful cloudy sky. Two years ago, this area still had no electricity, but now electricity poles and cables have been installed. However, the focus of my trip was not on this change, but on enjoying every corner of the scenery I passed. Let's take a look at some photos of the bridge that was my main destination. This new bridge now connects motorcyclists and car drivers to cross the mountainous area that was previously difficult to reach.

As you can see, the bridge pillars and stone structures visible in the photo indicate that this bridge has just been completed. Now the bridge has become an important link for residents and motorists passing through this mountainous area. I tried to see the entire bridge area by walking to the left and right sides. From both sides, I found several interesting things—and here are my thoughts.

From the left side of the bridge, the reinforced concrete pillars and precast PC-I girders were clearly visible, highlighting the solid engineering behind this newly built structure. Meanwhile, the open landscape and distant hills on the right created a calm and refreshing atmosphere. As part of a National Strategic Project (PSN) to improve regional connectivity in Aceh Besar and Seulawah, this bridge serves not only as an important access route but also as a beautiful vantage point that offers captivating views along the journey.

A brief stop at this bridge reminds us that beauty often lies in the journey itself; it’s simply a matter of taking the time to enjoy it. Thank you, and see you soon.
