Connect with nature and be a better version of you.

Hi Hivers,
If you are not a nature lover PLEASE read on. Me, I have a relationship with nature like a young child to a candy store. I crave it. I love to immerse myself in it and find wonder in its myriad of complexities.

To make nature a part of your awareness is to embrace the profound connection between yourself and the natural world. It's about recognizing that you are not separate from nature but an integral part of it. Here are some ways to achieve this:

Spend Time Outdoors: The simplest way to connect with nature is to spend time in it. Take walks in the park, hike in the woods, or simply sit in your garden. Let the sights, sounds, and smells of nature envelop you.
Observe Closely. Pay attention to the details.

Study the patterns in tree bark, the colors of wildflowers, or the intricate architecture of a spider's web. The more you observe, the more you'll see.

Practice Mindfulness: Engage in mindfulness exercises in a natural setting. Focus on your breath and senses, allowing yourself to fully immerse in the present moment. Feel the earth beneath your feet, the wind on your skin, and the sounds of nature around you. Meditation in your bedroom is great but sitting in nature takes it to another level when there is nothing physically between you and the infinite universe above.

Learn About Local Flora and Fauna: Educate yourself about the plants and animals in your area. Understanding the ecosystem you inhabit deepens your connection to it.

Participate in Conservation Efforts: Get involved in local conservation projects or volunteer with environmental organizations. Taking action to protect nature reinforces your sense of responsibility and connection.
Reduce Your Environmental Impact: Make sustainable choices in your daily life, such as reducing waste, conserving water and energy, and supporting eco-friendly products and practices.

Disconnect from Technology: Occasionally disconnect from screens and devices, and instead, engage with the natural world around you. Leave your phone behind during a nature walk, and resist the urge to document every moment. I had to teach myself this because I always want to take photos of the nature that amazes me daily, so just enjoying nature without a phone or camera is a deeper, purer thing. Do it and you will know what I am saying by this.

Share with Others: Encourage friends and family to join you in nature-based activities. Sharing your experiences can deepen your appreciation and create a sense of community around nature.

Celebrate Nature's Rhythms: Tune into the changing seasons, the phases of the moon, and the cycles of life in nature. Mark these transitions with rituals or simply moments of reflection.

Nature can enhance your mood and decrease symptoms of anxiety and depression. The presence of green spaces and natural elements has been linked to increased feelings of happiness and well-being. Nature has a calming effect on the mind. Spending time in natural settings can reduce stress levels, lower cortisol (a stress hormone) production, and promote a sense of relaxation.

By making nature an integral part of your awareness, you not only enrich your own life but also contribute to the well-being of the planet. Nature's beauty and wisdom are ever-present, ready to inspire, teach, and nurture those who seek a deeper connection.
