PhotoFeed Contest - Wildlife Photography Round 125 ~ Aceh Forest Chameleon

avatar

Hello....

In the PhotoFeed Contest - Wildlife Photography Round 125 organized by @Photofeed, I tried to share a photo of a chameleon living in the Aceh forest. The chameleon seen in the photo I shared is one of the reptile species that lives in the tropical rainforest of Aceh, Indonesia. With a body color that is a combination of green, brown, and a little yellow, this chameleon has an extraordinary ability to camouflage among leaves and tree trunks. Its scaly body and fringe on the back indicate that it belongs to the group of tree lizards that are well adapted to the humid and lush forest environment.

This animal is known as an effective insect predator, helping to maintain the balance of the forest ecosystem. Chameleons like this are usually active during the day and often freeze to avoid predators, using their body color to avoid being easily seen. Their large, independently moving eyes allow them to closely monitor their surroundings, strengthening their ability to hunt and survive.

The presence of chameleons in the forests of Aceh is an important indicator of environmental health. The forests in this region still contain extraordinary biological wealth and the presence of species such as chameleons shows that the ecosystem is still balanced enough to support wildlife. However, pressure from deforestation and human activity remains a major threat. Therefore, conservation efforts and preservation of natural habitats are very important so that unique animals like chameleons remain sustainable in the wild.

That's all I can share on this occasion, I hope my friends can like it, thank you very much to my friends who have read this post. That's all and thank you.
