PhotoFeed Contest - Wildlife Photography Round 128 ~ Hiding Frog
Hello...
In the PhotoFeed Wildlife Photography Contest Round 128 hosted by @photofeed, I shared a photo of a hiding frog. The photo I shared shows a frog hiding in a small crevice on a rock surface. The frog is grayish-brown with rough, bumpy skin that makes it appear to blend in with the texture and color of the surrounding rock. This camouflage is an effective natural strategy for avoiding predators and keeping itself safe in harsh, open habitats.
This hiding behavior is common in frogs, especially during the day when they are more vulnerable to threats. Frogs are typically more active at night, so shelters such as rock crevices, holes in the ground, or dense foliage are crucial for maintaining body moisture and avoiding direct sunlight, which can cause dehydration.
The presence of this frog in a rock crevice also demonstrates the important role of microhabitats in the ecosystem. Small crevices that seem insignificant to humans can actually be ideal homes for small animals. This reminds us of the importance of preserving the diversity of natural habitats, as even a small crack in a rock can provide a safe home for wildlife like this frog.
That's all I can share for this time. I hope you enjoyed it. Thank you very much for reading this post. Thank you.
