PhotoFeed Contest - Street Photography Round 133 ~ Traditional Market
Hello...
In the PhotoFeed Street Photography Contest Round 133 hosted by @photofeed, I attempted to share a photo of a traditional market in Tangse, Pidie, Aceh. The photo I shared shows the typical atmosphere of a traditional market in Tangse sub-district, Pidie Regency, Aceh. A man is seen selecting various plastic household items such as baskets, buckets, and multi-purpose containers arranged simply on the ground. The colorful green, red, blue, purple, and pink items add a festive feel despite the simple selling place.
On the other side, several people are seen sitting, watching children playing nearby. The background shows the street, with parked motorbikes and the passing of people. All of this depicts the daily life of the community, which is intimate, warm, and full of interaction.
Traditional markets like this play a vital role in the local economy. Household goods are relatively affordable and usually easier to find than in modern stores. Furthermore, markets serve as social spaces where people meet, exchange greetings, and maintain relationships.
More than just a place for transactions, traditional markets reflect local culture. From the way sellers display their wares, to the way they bargain, to the simple interactions between sellers and buyers, all are a timeless part of local life.
This photo reminds us that despite the hustle and bustle of modern times, the pulse of traditional markets remains vibrant and plays a vital role in maintaining the economic sustainability of the common people.
That's all I can share for now. I hope you enjoy it. Thank you very much for reading this post. Thank you.
