PhotoFeed Contest - Macro Photography Round 126 ~ Dragonfly
Hello....
In the PhotoFeed Contest - Macro Photography Round 126 held by @Photofeed, I tried to share a photo of a damselfly. The photo of the damselfly that I shared is one of the beautiful insects belonging to the Coenagrionidae family, known for its slender body shape and striking bright colors. The bright green color that adorns the body of this damselfly indicates a species originating from tropical regions of Southeast Asia, such as Aceh, Indonesia. Its clear wings with a fine venation pattern indicate extraordinary flying abilities used to hunt small insects or avoid predators.
Dragonflies are often found around still water bodies such as ponds, lakes, and rice fields. They are highly sensitive to environmental changes, making their presence an indicator of a healthy ecosystem. Within the ecosystem, dragonflies play a crucial role as natural predators of mosquitoes and other small insects, helping to maintain the balance of insect populations that could become pests.
This macro photo also shows the remarkable detail of the dragonfly's body structure, including its large compound eyes, which provide nearly 360-degree vision, and its delicate yet strong legs. Furthermore, a colony of small white insects, possibly mealybugs or scale insects, is visible on the leaf where the dragonfly perches. These interactions enrich the dynamics of micro-life in nature, often overlooked by the human eye.
That's all I can share on this happy occasion. I hope you enjoy it. Thank you very much for reading this post. Thank you.
Hi, excellent review on dragonflies. I usually see them very rarely, although these days it has been frequent to see them in my garden and in other neighborhoods where I have gone for work. Must be because of the rainy season. I have never seen them in that green color, I have always seen them in brown. Greetings.
Hello!
I love dragonflies!
Beautiful photo you took!
Congratulations!
