In the PhotoFeed Contest - Cityscape Photography Round 125 organized by @Photofeed, I tried to share a photo of the city of Sigli, as the city of my birth. Sigli City, as seen in the photo I shared, is the capital of Pidie Regency in Aceh Province, Indonesia. This city has a calm atmosphere with a beautiful and natural atmosphere. The surrounding buildings reflect the rapid development of infrastructure while still maintaining local wisdom. The city landscape is surrounded by hills that add to the beauty of the panorama, making it a suitable place to live or visit.

One of the striking icons in the photo is the monument shaped like a melinjo seed (known in Acehnese as the aneuk mulieng monument) that stands majestically in the center of town. This modern structure is a symbol of pride for the people of Sigli, signifying the richness of the region's agricultural produce. The monument not only serves as a focal point for the city but also signifies Sigli's continued development and openness to advances in architectural design.

The people of Sigli are known for their religious and modest lifestyle, with a strong Islamic culture reflected in their daily activities and the presence of large mosques throughout the city. Traditional markets remain the center of the local economy, offering a variety of agricultural and seafood products, as well as Acehnese handicrafts. Furthermore, the city's well-organized and less congested streets reflect a more relaxed pace of life compared to other large cities.

Sigli also serves as an important gateway to natural and historical tourist destinations in Pidie Regency. Its strategic location provides easy access to beautiful beaches like Kuala Pelangi Beach and historical sites like the Japanese Fortress. With a spirit of sustainable development and rooted in local values, Sigli demonstrates itself as a dynamic and promising small town in the far west of Indonesia.
