Khunjerab Check Post, Pak-China border, Karokaram Highway

Hello guys. I am here to share the trip of China Border which is in Gilgit-Baltistan. As my followers know, I went to see the mountains of Gilgit-Baltistan last month. In winter, there is snow everywhere on the China Border, but in summer, you only see snow on the mountain tops, apart from that, you also get to see cattle and lush green mountains. We only visited the China Border that day because the China Border was three hours away from where we were staying. It was quite cold there even in summer, so we took our jackets and caps with us so that we could avoid the cold.

The sky was clear and there were white clouds scattered on the blue sky. The roads were quite dangerous but the beauty of the mountains enticed us to go on these dangerous roads. The China border is located at the height of the mountains, which is why the temperature there remains in minus all year round. We left for the China border after having breakfast at around nine in the morning. Our tour was for nine days and we traveled in the same bus for nine days. We had to hire jeeps some times to go to some high mountains because such buses cannot go there.

As I said above, the travel was very long but we did not get tired at all because there were so many high and beautiful mountains around and we not only captured the beauty of these mountains in our mobiles, we also made countless memories. We saw snow on the mountain tops and enjoyed the cool weather a lot because it was very hot in Punjab those days so we headed to these mountains for a few days as we were going up towards the mountains the temperature was dropping.

Finally, after a three-hour travel, we reached the China border and our bus was parked just before the border and we had to some walk now. You can see in the picture below that the cities that are further away, I think, are Chinese cities. Before about 20 kilometers from here, we were given tax of Rs. 500 per person. China also built five tunnels near Attabad Lake so that the contacts with Pakistanis could be strengthened.

All my friends were walking ahead of me and I was behind because I was capturing every moment. You can see in the picture below that I took a selfie as soon as I reached the China border. My cellphone doesn't take good selfies, but this one isn't too bad. There were a lot of travellers here and everyone was wearing jackets because it was quite cold.

You can see in the picture above that my friends Hafiz and Ali are taking picture and behind them the view of border looking complete and no buses are parked but in the picture below you can see me how unlucky I am. The buses have stopped behind me which are probably for Chinese travellers but ok the red flag is visible. This picture of me was taken by Kazim with his iPhone.

I took this picture standing on one side of the border. The view of the border is visible but my picture is black and I don't know why. In the picture below you can see that there were nets around the border so that no one could cross it.

On one side it had I Love Pakistan written and I was trying to take a selfie with it but it looks upside down in the picture. In the picture below you can see that my friend Chatha was taking a picture with it but he looks very small in it. This I Love Pakistan written really increases the beauty of this place.

Looking towards the return route, this board is visible, which is showing the directions to nearby and famous cities. There were also some shops here so that travellers could buy some food from here but those shops were very expensive and the price of everything was double. My friend Mehar took me and Chatha to have cake and fries from here. In the picture below, you can see the snow lying on the mountains, which looks quite beautiful.

Now we were gathering all our friends to leave because for the return trip we had to travel for three hours on the way. If we spent more time here, we could get sick because it was very cold. This cold was affecting our brains and I put a cap on my head when I felt very cold. In the picture below you can see how beautiful the mountains around the border are with a lot of snow on them and some springs were also flowing.

I saw yaks for the first time in this place and there were also many mountain cows here who had long hair on their bodies and that is why they can survive in such extreme cold. The sun was shining, the sun was visible but its heat was not felt. There was a very cold wind blowing and the temperature was in minus. I really like the picture you are seeing below, the high mountains and the white snow on top that does not melt all year round and the animals grazing on the green grass. This place is really no less than paradise.

I was very happy to visit the China border because before that I had only seen it in books and social media. I hope you also liked the beauty of the Pak-China border and my travel. We spent about an hour here because it was quite cold but we enjoyed it a lot. I liked the beauty of the snow-capped mountains here more than the border. Don't forget to give your feedback about this beautiful place in my comment section. I will be waiting for your comments.

It is all reminding me of previous precious year when I visited many areas of Hunza. Still I left so many.

There is no doubt that Hunza is a very beautiful valley of Gilgit-Baltistan and there are many beautiful points there. I also missed many points but whenever I get a chance to visit this place again, I will definitely visit these points.
