A Dive into the Lahore Museum's Prehistoric and Ancient Collections

Hello guys. Today I will share with you some more amazing and historical things of Lahore Museum and tell you about its history as I promised you in the previous blog that I will bring you part two of Lahore Museum. You can read the first part here.

When I had not visited this museum, I was very eager to go here because I had seen many videos of this museum on Reels and it is a very famous museum. I am happy that I have not been disappointed by visiting this museum and it turned out to be bigger and more beautiful than my expectations. I got a lot of knowledge from this museum and I always like visiting such historical places.

Look at this statue, it was placed on the lawn outside the museum and it is in a very dilapidated condition, maybe that is why it is placed outside the museum and you can also see a fountain in the picture below which was installed on the lawn of this museum. There were also a lot of flower plants here and it rained a lot that day due to which the weather became quite good.

These pictures of me were taken by a random girl whom I had asked to take my pictures because my friends had gone somewhere. The museum was big and I couldn't find them. I got separated from them while taking pictures and the girl was very nice. She took a lot of pictures of me and suggested that I should stand like this and take a picture. You can also see some statues behind me.

As you can see in the pictures, there were countless idols here and idols of different religions and cultures were present here. These idols were discovered in the artifacts found mostly from Sindh and then after studying these idols, it was estimated how old they are. A tag was attached to each idol on which its history was written and it was written where it was discovered.

Some idols were made of clay and most of the idols were made of stone and kept inside the glass so that they could be preserved for a long time. There were lights inside so that they could be seen well even at night. It was difficult to take pictures through the glass but my mobile helped me and I was able to capture good pictures.

In the picture below, you can see how complicated these idols are made. They are quite small and I was seeing how much effort must have been put into it.

A small second floor was also built, mostly pictures were there, which were pictures of those leaders who played an important role in the creation of Pakistan. This museum was founded in 1865 and it has been almost 160 years now and surprisingly it is still standing strong. I think it is also repaired and a lot of care was taken to clean it here. I also got to see some old coins here and they also have quite complicated designs and these things attract me.

As you can see in the pictures, there are pots from different cultures and old times. You can read on the attached small broad that which culture these pots belong to and in which era they were used. It is written in both Urdu and English so that if people from other countries come to visit this museum, they can gain knowledge about these things. You can see how differently these pots are designed and this is what attracts me to historical museums. Here I also got to see old seals and some ornaments that were made of bones and precious stones.

In this picture you can see that I took a selfie with Queen Victoria's successor son and it seems that this statue is also looking at the camera. On the right side of the statue of Queen Victoria, there is a statue of her grandson and on the left side there is a statue of her successor son and this queen has been the queen of India, Ireland and the United Kingdom.

The board next to this statue has written where this statue was kept before and with what money this statue was made. I was very interested in seeing this statue of Queen Victoria and finally when I was looking at it, I was imagining how this queen had ruled and how much she had been in power and influence.

You can see these manuscripts. A separate room was made for them and these books were written very beautifully. They were placed in a digital tablet after taking pictures of them and we could zoom in and see them. This portion was also quite interesting.

Here you can see some guitars which were made of wood and I also saw a big guitar which you can see below which I liked the most. I was wondering how it is used and what its sound would be like. I think it is not working right now but if they are repaired then it can be used but they were preserved inside the glass as a memory. I saw a structure of Taj Mahal here whose picture I have shared above I am very fond of seeing Taj Mahal and it is in India. Hopefully I will visit it very soon because I have heard a lot about its beauty.

Here I have shared some more pictures of the statues. I don't know much about the statues or which religion they belong to, but I found the statue in the picture below quite lovely. Its golden color makes it more beautiful and it is made with great care. I also got to see some beautiful paintings in this museum which further make this museum beautiful.

I spent about an hour and a half in this museum because we had to visit some other locations after this museum and the day was about to end. I came out of the museum and sat on the lawn and sat there waiting for my friends and sent them messages but there was no signal. While sitting on the lawn, I took another picture of the building in front which you can see below. This building uses small bricks which makes it strong and its old building attracts the people as me.

I hope you will enjoy getting to know about some of the old things in this museum. I would recommend you all to visit this museum because it is a very beautiful and historical museum which does not let you get bored and you get to see interesting things. Don't forget to give your feedback about this museum in my comment section. I will be waiting for your comments.

As much as I love science, I do not in anyway compare it to art. Art for me is life and museums tend to bring back the arts of the past.

Thanks for sharing.
