the full moon from the backyard

IMG_0497_edited.jpeg

I took this one last night from the backyard. I had to angle the telescope, the Dwarf 2, to get Luna as it slowly crept across the horizon. The moon was almost 100% full, and the camera got a good 30 minutes of stacking before the moon crept behind powerlines.

That's stunningly sharp and clear. I think I can see the moon cities from here. 👽

Man, I'm loving this scope - it's been a delight. I can't wait I catch the lunar wave with it, lol (long, long story, btw)

The detail is phenomenal. I'd love to get a telescope but living in the city with all the light pollution hiding the stars is not worth it.

honestly, i did get a light pollution filter for this thing, but i have yet to try it. the solar filters worked really well, though -

I am waiting to figure out a deep space object to use the light pollution filter on, but just haven't had the time to get there yet.

I'm in La Crosse, WI, you can see the light pollution for me -

A light filter sounds awesome. It looks like you're close to some big cities but also far enough away. I've pretty much got a Milwaukee situation in my neighbourhood :D
