Feather Friends : The Red Tailed Hawk
For this #feathered-friend share, I want to get a set out of a marsh find of late. As we were taking a walk through this past week, a very large bird swooped overhead and landed near is in a nearby tree. At first, we thought maybe we were lucky to see an owl...or maybe an eagle. As we got closer and pulled out the binoculars, we were thrilled to come upon a red-tailed hawk.
It's amazing how well this bird of prey blends in with the tree; if you didn't look closely, you'd have never realized it was sitting there, high above...waiting for its next meal.
When the hawk rearranged itself on the tree to face the light, the real beauty of the bird came through.
How lucky we are to have a spot so close to us to see things like this in action. I'd dare say, very lucky indeed!
Thanks for checking out my photos; more to come as we head toward the Winter Solstice!
The red-tailed hawk looks great but indeed if one should sight it from far, one may think it's an owl or eagle.
Magnificent 🥰
thanks - a very cool find not 10 minutes from our home, lol
