Back to Reality… and Back to the Sky

Hey everyone!

I disappeared for about a week — had to get back into work mode and sort things out.
Not everything is fully under control yet, but at least I finally have a bit of free time again.

A Missed Story

Today I had a few ideas for a post, but then I remembered something.

In two earlier posts, I told you about the 2025 Kite Festival in Thailand… and somehow completely forgot to mention that I actually visited it again in March 2026.

So yeah — fixing that now.

Same Place, New Energy

Just like before, the festival took place along the central beachfront, right across from the main shopping mall and the Hilton hotel in Pattaya.

This year there were 12 participating countries.

Some installations were new, some I recognized from last year — but the overall vibe still felt fresh. There’s something about seeing these things against the sea and sky that never really gets old.

The festival lasted a full week, and I later found out that even more kites appeared in the following days after I visited. So I probably didn’t even see everything.

Color Overload (In a Good Way)

All the kites were already incredibly colorful…
but I pushed the colors even further in my photos.

It just felt right.

This place almost demands it — bright sky, ocean, wind, and these huge floating shapes. The more color, the better.

The One That Didn’t Fly

There was one moment I was really waiting for.

A massive kite shaped like a camera.

I was already imagining it as the cover shot for this post… but it never fully inflated. The crew tried for quite a while, but something clearly didn’t work out — maybe the structure, maybe just not enough wind.

Still, I’m pretty sure they got it flying the next day.

Strange Shapes in the Sky

Another one that caught my attention looked almost like a parachute… but with spikes all around it.

It never fully lifted into the sky, but instead spun slowly around its axis, almost dancing in place.

It looked weird. And really cool.

People kept gathering around it, watching, filming — it definitely became one of those unexpected highlights.

Better Late Than Never

I should have posted this earlier… but well — here we are.

Better now than never.

Hope you enjoy these bright, saturated moments from Pattaya beach.
Sometimes a bit of color is exactly what you need.

Thank you for your likes, your comments, and your time. It never goes unnoticed.

I write my texts myself, correct mistakes and translate via ChatGPT (which is not a violation on Hive)! All photos were taken by me personally - I am a beginner photographer, so I ask professionals not to judge strictly.

Thank you for sharing these moments with me! Until new stories and new holidays! ✌️.

Looks like the Thai loves a lot of celebrations and festivals full of colours. How will you compare this through scenario in Russia?

Yes, Thais love holidays and fun, and they also love doing nothing. ))
The situation in Russia is not great right now, especially when it comes to the internet. There are endless blocks on instant messaging apps, YouTube, and so on. The only thing that helps is a VPN, but even those get blocked periodically. I only access this place with a VPN. Without it, I wouldn't be able to read or write.

This is honestly sad. I mean, there's nothing wrong with letting people access places that are not harmful on the internet. So why are they doing it?

One can only guess here. There could be many reasons, but I hope I won't be left without communication, as there are always ways to bypass the blocking. Many people aren't worried at all; they've switched to Russian instant messengers and the Russian equivalent of YouTube.

I suppose it's quite a shock to get back to the country, after so long.

That Lumix camera is funny :)

Yeah, to be honest, I still haven’t fully realized that I’m not in Thailand anymore. Every time I go outside, I freeze and think I should have come back a month later!

Hello @russia-btc 👋.

You've been busy with work, you were away from Hive for days, and you start with this post of my favorites, the kite festival. This time I see some that I didn't see in your previous post—the dragon is beautiful, and the circular colorful one is spectacular, bro.

How fun it must be to be there in person and see the participation of the countries and members flying their kites as high as possible... especially with the sizes they have—many of them are several meters tall...

As always, I love these posts. A hug from the island, and if you can, upload a video so we can see them... Cheers, champion!! 🫡😊🤝

I knew you’d like it!
Since I arrived in Russia, there hasn’t been a single sunny day. It’s been cloudy and cold the whole time — right now it’s actually snowing with rain. So I felt like I needed something warm and colorful.
I didn’t shoot any video since I was busy taking photos, but I’ll ask my wife — maybe she recorded something.
