Power Of Love; LOH#121

Hello beautiful ladies❤️❤️❤️❤️.
It's a pleasure to be here for this week's contest. The week's theme is love and I will be writing on the first question posed ;

How do you know when you are in love? What are the signs?

Love is said to be an intense feeling of deep affection for someone. For me, I never believed I would ever fall in love. Not because I was cold-hearted, but because growing up I'd never seen a good example of love around me. I grew up in an area where families fight almost all the time, so I never imagined love can be a beautiful thing. Hence, I vowed never to fall in love or even get married 😃😃😃😃. I am laughing at myself because not only did I fall in love, I got married as well.

Growing up, if any guy tries to ask me out, I will report him to my Mum and you know how mothers protect their children especially females from "male predators".

It all started when I went to a higher institution, I studied Math so sometimes I would require assistance to solve one problem or two. My younger sister was still in secondary school and she'd always boast about how her mathematics teacher at the school can solve any math question. She told her teacher that her elder sister is studying maths and needs help with some assignments.

To cut the long story short, he offered to help out, and he came with textbooks and lots of materials that could help. The first time I set my eyes on him, my heart stopped. I only noticed his lips moving but I couldn't hear a thing. I was jolted back when he asked for my contacts so I could call if I have any problems with any given assignment.

After he left, I began to ask myself why I behaved that way. Like what is wrong with me? I couldn't concentrate for some time but I had to remind myself never to let anything or anyone distract me... Then he'd come around on occasion to help out with problems. He'd teach me topics I find difficult and make sure I understood them. He never for once told me to come to his place, rather he will come to mine.

The interesting thing about our meeting is tha he never gave me a clue that he has feelings for me. He is very calm when explaining and he always encourages me whenever I am about to give up. I began relaxing around him. I felt safe around him. I was always looking forward to spending time with him and we'd talk randomly about life experiences. Whenever he shares with me some difficulties he's facing at work, I wish I could take his problems away if I had the power.

I remember I always smile whenever I see him. Whenever he calls to check on me, I am always smiling like I won the lottery. It took me a while to realize I am in love with him and when he finally asked me out. I was a bit surprised because I know he likes me a lot but I didn't know if he loved me. He told me he had fallen for me from the very beginning, but he'd never wanted to take advantage of the fact that he was helping me. He said he was glad I never threw myself at him as so was I. In all this, I wondered why my parents never opposed him coming around.

We dated for 7 years before he finally popped the question. All through those years we dated, we got to know most things about each other, we are not perfect as we disagree on some things but in the end, we'd find a common ground.
Through him, I got to know love is beautiful and powerful.

This is our third year in marriage and counting.
