Our Short Journey to the Health Center and City Hall and the Unexpected Reunion of Mom and Her Godchild

You know, I am always thankful to my mommy F for being so understanding in everything I do. Also, her nonstop guidance to me, even though I should do everything on my own now. But I am still very dependent on them. I can't really move when I do things alone, especially if it involves talking and facing other people. I really hate talking, and no matter how accommodating that person is, I can't help but feel anxious. I even have cold feet whenever I have to talk to strangers. I also forget those questions I was supposed to ask because of nervousness (≧▽≦). I'm really like a child no, that's why they also treat me sometimes like one, lol.

So, yesterday, I took care of my PhilHealth, and it is also thanks to my mom, who convinced me that I was able to do it. But, yes, I didn't do it alone, I'm with her, like always, lol. I'm supposed to do it alone, but because City Hall is not that far from where we are, she came with me, which I really appreciate because if it's just me, I might just end up not doing it. All I have to do is pay so that I can use it when I schedule my surgery to remove my nasal polyp. It'll be a big help for the big price we have to pay just for that. But I don't want to go alone, (≧▽≦).

So lucky me because Mom volunteer to come with me. And because the city hall is not that far from home, we decide to just walk to get there, like we are just exercising to sweat. We walk at a slow pace to get there because the sunlight is not that itchy on the skin yet, it's a okay weather.

It's a beautiful day to have a morning walk to the city hall. As we were walking, we also decided to really enjoy the walk. We will stop for a minute to rest, but we will also take that time to take pictures and enjoy the view in the park. Mom doesn't visit the park that often, so it is like a change of surroundings for her. We also talk a lot while laughing. This has become a bonding moment between me and Mom.

We also took a selfie for remembrance. Mom told me to share it on her timeline with this particular caption, which I don't understand because it is a "bisaya" word (≧▽≦) lol. I just ignore that caption and write "tagalog" words though, lol. I really like how mom seems so carefree on this walk. She truly enjoyed it, I can tell. I will convince her to do this more often ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ.

It's kind of hot in here already, but we have a cap, so it's okay. What I'm thankful for on this walk is that despite the hot weather, the strong and cold wind saved us. Mom was also thankful for it, and she reacts every time the wind blows into our spot. Thanks to the trees and the waiting shed too, we can have a chair where we can rest after walking for a while. And with the kind of view we have here, I just feel like staying here for more minutes and just resting, haha.

So, with our desire to reach the city hall faster, we decided to take a shortcut by taking the path in the center of the plaza. But it is a bad idea because the entrance and exit are far from the path we take. So, we had to enter those rails like what Mom is doing in the picture. I remind Mom a lot of times to be careful, which she listens to, so we were able to successfully take an exit at the end. Then, in the middle, Mom told me that we had to go to the health center to get free medicine for hypertension. And while we're at it, I also ask for ferrous sulfate for myself. I really need that you see.

Here's another photo of Mom, who's walking faster now because of the heat. But she said she's not sweating yet, so she's still okay. We just continue walking because we're already about to arrive at our destination, the Health Center. It's already 7:48 am at that time, so the center is already open. There's no one yet when we arrive, just some staff.

When we saw that there weren't any people yet, we made a stop, and I asked Mom to pose on that stair, and I would take a picture of her. Look how happy she is in that photo, she immediately made it her profile picture on Facebook, haha. Seeing her so happy like this and without any pain in her feet is just a good sight for us. It's hard to watch her whenever she can't walk because of her arthritis. But she's good now, and I hope we can have this kind of walk again soon.

We finally arrive, we are actually the first to arrive. A second later, some people also came, and as you can see, they are getting their blood pressure tested, and it's free, by the way. We already told one of the staff the medicine we needed: lozartan, antihistamine, and ferrous sulfate, but sadly, the first two are not available anymore. But they have amlodipine, so we just take that and the ferrous sulfate. I thought we would go home with nothing. Good thing there are still some available here.

Now off to the city hall, we can already see it, that big city hall. It's just a few steps from where we are. We have to cross hell to reach that, lol. Just look how hot it is in there now. I'm already sweating and have started to cough again. As for Mom, well, I even received a good word from saying, "You are so weak! Look at me. It doesn't bother me at all." And I was like, ƪ(˘⌣˘)ʃ haha.

And we finally arrived at the city hall. We just put our name on a log book and were pointed to this part. Because we are the first people to arrive there, we were asked immediately about the reason for our visit, and Mom said that I would pay for my PhilHealth. The only requirement is my PH ID, so I gave it to the person in charge. And while waiting, Mom asked a lot of questions regarding my first payment which happen between 2016 to 2017, and they answered us. It is Mom who does more talking than me, who actually needed it ಥ_ಥ. I'm not proud of it, but I'm just glad that Mom was here with me.

We stayed in the treasurer's office for like 10 minutes because of the receipt, and they had to write it manually. And it is so hot inside, which is why, when we're finally out of the office, we decided to stay in the lobby because there's a big e-fan in the waiting area. We took advantage of it while there's no one in the waiting area yet, lol. And would you believe that we stay there for longer, like 15 minutes, than in the office?

Mom met her godchild that she hasn't seen for 15 years, I think. I heard them say what year, I just forgot what I heard. She is working on the city hall, and she spotted us in the waiting area. She approached Mom and said hello. I am actually busy with my phone, and Mom suddenly started to cry. Seeing her cry makes me feel like crying too. It is like a reunion for them. They talk for 15 minutes about what happened in each life over the past few years. Mom was so happy that they met again. Actually, the woman is familiar to me, but I don't remember her much, so I don't have any reaction to seeing her. I just nod at her as a greeting, and that's it (≧▽≦).

I am happy that they met again, and I am happy that Mom is happy. She's really not this emotional, but maybe as you get older, you become more emotional and can't really just hide an emotion. But either way, they talk a little more outside about something, while me, as I don't want to interrupt their "chismisan," lol, busied myself capturing the front view in the city hall. Beautiful, isn't it? It's the Plaza de Bansud at the back of it.

I didn't wait long for them, they finished their talk, and we walked to the terminal of the tricycle and went home just like that. Yeah, we ride in a tricycle because if, I walk, I might really end up as a toasty Parot, lol.

What a beautiful day we had yesterday, especially for Mom ✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧.

Great to see that you have a bonding time while walking in the park with your Mom. Although looking at the pictures I thought it was your dad 😁

It’s a lovely place to walk and a happy reunion too! Good to see that you managed to get some meds too. Is your mom also allergic to something?

Have a great week sis 💙

Haha, I really had a lot of fun even though it's really hot halfway our journey (≧▽≦).

It's her partner, Mommy D. If you remember, I told you about one of my Mom having skin allergry, it's her, Mommy D. Although it's not that severe anymore, she still have to take it especially if she ate those foods that trigger her allergy.

!LoLZ Now I’m confused with too many moms 😂😂😂

I seem to vaguely remember you mentioning. Does she know which foods she’s allergic to? I stopped taking antihistamines over a month ago. Since I started changing my diet, all allergies seem to have gone away 🤩

Hahaha, yeah, I have 3 (≧▽≦), my biological mom, my auntie which I call Mommy F and her partner Mommy D. I'm living with Mommy F ever since I was a baby ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ

There's a lot actually, egg, chicken, dairy product, and may many more. She also change her food, but there are times that she also indulge her cravings even if it triggers her allergies (≧▽≦)

It is very rewarding to see mother and daughter together in a short but very fruitful walk. What is important is the quality time we spend together with our loved ones. The ones who have done everything they could to give us more than they could ever have in their lives.

Thank you very much dear @ruffatotmeee for sharing this beautiful experience with your mother!

I send you my warmest and best regards!
