Making art with my unconsciousness
Meditation
Sometimes, when I feel my head is full of ideas, clouded, or just uneasy, I know it's time to meditate. A good practice to clear my head for me is usually to just post-process 1 single photograph (the above) and just channel whatever comes. I just start listening to music, and stuff happens eventually on its own. Listening to music has a huge impact on what I will be making, unconsciousness.
Channeling
I never really knew much about "channeling art", I still don't know if it is an actual thing. But at some point during the process, I just black out and start doing things that are probably somewhere in my head. I started doing this just to try to get my train my editing skills. But I tended to forget the entire process along the way to the point where I had to scratch my head. Like, I was asking myself "How did I get here" when I started looking at the original photograph, and the results I came up with.
I honestly believe that this is a form of art, that's out of our control. I promised myself to take some screenshots along the way, but that was 2 hours ago. Lul. For me, it was just 5 minutes ago when I made that promise.
These are the results:
Let's see if we can push it even more
I added a starry night photograph that I took earlier. I continued working on a canvas of 2048x1365 pixels.
It took a few minutes to get back to "channeling mode". Working with the same layers, and creating something on top of it was pretty vivid lol. The above images are pretty minimalistic, but already quite nice in my opinion. The change below took me another hour. I guess it takes some time to get into it.

No contact
After finishing this, I think I have a more clear head. I think I saw Lackofcolor signaling me during the creation of it, so I think she lost contact for a few hours. Oh well, what needs to get out, needs to get out. She'll understand. It's going to be bedtime soon anyway. But perhaps, I'll have to do it tomorrow again if my head is still so full. Looks pretty retro/epic if I'd say so myself. NGL, it has been a long time since I do more spiritual stuff. I've been suppressing it a lot because I need a clear mind (the irony).
Have you tried to channel your art?
Since I don't even know if this is an actual thing, I do wonder. Have you tried channeling when you create your artwork? I love doing this stuff. I wonder if there are hidden messages in it as well.
If you scroll back up, you'll see what image I used. Everything you see is made from that same image, and barely anything else.
Cheers,
Ruben
