Peak Lenin - Kyrgyzstan's highest mountain

Peak Lenin with 7134 m (23400 ft) is the highest mountain of Kyrgyzstan and just below its mighty peak, there is the beautiful Tulpar-Kul Lake
We already wanted to visit Peak Lenin back in 2018 – and again on our trip to Tajikistan. But both times, the weather wasn’t on our side.
Funny thing is, most locals don’t even know what you mean when you say “Peak Lenin.” Here, the mountain is called Ilyas Asanov Chokusu, named after the Kyrgyz mountaineer Ilyas Asanov.
This time, we finally made it on the third try! An amazing place to reach by motorcycle, to go hiking or just relax among this breathtaking scenery. Gravel roads, crisp mountain air, and that view – just perfect!

I want that photo of the lake in the Around The World contest right away :-)

Are you using a drone or is it taken from a peak?
