Beautiful Passu

Passu is a small village in northern Pakistan and known for some remarkable pretty mountains: the Passu Cones.

Rising to over 6,000 meters, incredibly sharp, wildly rugged and rarely climbed.

Not a single peak, but a whole group of jagged spires and still one of the most impressive silhouettes in Pakistan.

Just behind them lies the Passu Bridge.

A roughly 200-meter-long suspension bridge connecting the village of Passu with a few fields on the other side of the Hunza River.

Unlike the Husseini Bridge a few kilometers further south, there is no entrance fee here – and usually absolute silence 😉

The steps are far apart, the bridge sways noticeably, and beneath you the milky glacial water rushes by.

At this time of the year it’s unfortunately not turquoise blue, but rather muddy brown – still impressive nonetheless.
