Albano Pass in Georgia Tusheti
The Abano Pass in the north of Georgia is not for the faint-hearted: 2,826 m (9200 ft) high, narrow, landslide-prone, and usually only open from June to October.
But those who brave it are rewarded with one of the most spectacular roads in the Caucasus.
Destination? Omalo, the remote heart of Tusheti.
A mountain village frozen in time – with ancient watchtowers and endless silence. No phone signal, no rush. Just nature, off-road, freedom and probably one of the most scenic wildcamping spots.
