RE: STOP USING MY PHOTOS AND POSTS WITHOUT MY CONSENT
You are viewing a single comment's thread:
You clearly have very little understanding of copyright law, or you’re deliberately ignoring it. So I don’t know if there’s any point in explaining anything on this topic.
Just because someone else steals doesn't mean you should do it too.

No one is stealing here, you are given credit, no one goes on reddit claiming yours photos are theirs
You don't understand copyright. Just because I posted a photo of myself online doesn't mean I gave someone credit for its use. The photo is still mine, and I decide who can use it and how.
That's me saved a Hiver's photo with two clicks:
https://www.pinterest.com/pin/520728775687968224/
It's clear that this photo isn't mine and there is a link to the source.
If it were a theft, Pinterest would be bankrupt.
This is a screenshot of my post on Pinterest:
Now I am asking you, @rsphotos, do you feel this was a good promotion for Hive?
You'll probably say "that's good promotion, considering the stats!" and will probably upvote this comment (if you care about Hive a little bit).
That's it - you "paid" me for sharing someone's work on Pinterest. Does it mean you and me are thieves?
It doesn't make us thieves.
Exactly in the same way HivePosh works with Reddit.
Nobody prints your photos on T-shirts, nobody uses your photos in ad campaigns to sell products, nobody claims your work to be theirs, and everyone shares links to your original posts.
Moreover, HivePosh promotes your photography and your blog for free and even pays you (the author's part). HivePosh doesn't promote its own business or a frontend - it promotes "the blockchain cooperative" you have a share in and are paid by.
@inmyframe wrote "I think we should respect the will of creators who do not want to be shared" - that's where I can agree.
What I don't agree with: false accusations against HivePosh and disparaging other people's work, which I found in your comments, @rsphotos.
I don't know how these statistics translate into the number of new registered users, so I don't know how to evaluate them or what the actual impact of Hive's promotion is.
You clearly didn’t understand the main point of my post.
If I, as the author, for whatever reason, don’t want to participate in such “promotion,” that should be respected, not ignored.
What kind of promotion is it for Hive if someone on Reddit clicks on the link to my post and sees that I, as the author, did not want it linked there?
If someone ignores your wishes in such a simple case, what guarantee do you have that they won’t use your photos for the other purposes you mentioned?
I don’t care about that small portion of the rewards in this system. I don’t want people who, on the one hand, don’t appreciate my work by voting on my posts, yet on the other hand are very eager to promote those posts on Reddit to earn Hive. In such cases, I know they don’t appreciate my work; they aren’t interested in promoting me as an author—they’re only interested in the reward for my work. That’s exactly the attitude of the first person in this post.
If someone uses my photos against my will and gets paid for it, what do you call that?
And what about the users who left Hive but whose posts remain? What kind of promotion is that for them?
I don’t think HivePosh is entirely bad. I believe that in its current form, it’s being used to earn Hive, rather than to genuinely promote authors and Hive.
Honestly, if the reward ratios on HivePosh were reversed, do you think these people would be so eager to participate in this promotion?
There has to be some kind of compromise. Everyone should have a choice and decide for themselves whether they want their work to be promoted in this way. It shouldn't be forced on them.
If it really bothers you that people sharing yours posts are not upvoting your posts, then you are just interested in rewards the same way you are blaming others (which you earn for free from reddit shares)
You don't understand my approach to this issue.
This isn't about extra rewards. With my post, I opted out of Reddit rewards, even though in some cases they were higher than a regular upvote. I don't think many people are willing to do the same. I also expected downvotes as a form of revenge, which is exactly what you did.
I’m talking about certain principles and respect for other people’s work. It’s simple: if I like someone’s work, I cast my vote regardless of its value.
I don’t think we’ll reach an agreement because we have completely different views on this.
If I wanted to revenge I'd downvote ANY of your posts, I don't agree with the rewards on this one, you could have burn rewards here, a post on photography lovers without any picture...
First of all, HivePosh isn't a closed club of people who earn on Hive promo - everyone can join. If you believe that's so easy and profitable, join and share links to Hive content yourself.
Secondly, yes, we get rewards for Hive promotion. The same as witnesses, developers, content creators for their posts. Do you think if they all had no rewards, they would stay on Hive for too long?
Why don't you use the same logic to your photography - you are paid with Hive for your posts, so your photography is not photography, this?
Okay...
No doubt. We got feedback, we change the things. We just added no-share user list here: https://peakd.com/hive-197333/@poshtoken/hiveposh-rules
My goal was for others to respect my simple request not to use my posts outside of Hive. Everyone has their own point of view, and the reasons behind this decision shouldn’t matter. Normally, this post wouldn’t have been necessary. The information in my posts should have been sufficient.
As far as I’m concerned, the matter is closed.
No, because the responsibility for the content lies with the user who created the Pin, not Pinterest. If the original user doesn't like it, they can contact Pinterest to have it removed.
