Photo Trip | Croatia - A few places in Split

These are the final photos and the last post I’ll be sharing about the city of Split. I’ve been thinking for a while about how best to present them. They mainly feature the architecture of various buildings that caught my eye while exploring the city. Since it’s all about architecture, both color and black-and-white versions will work well.

To już ostatnie zdjęcia i ostatni post jaki będzie dotyczył miasta Split. Przez jakiś czas zastanawiałem się w jaki sposób je przedstawić. Jest to przede wszystkim architektura różnych budynków, które zwróciły moją uwagę podczas zwiedzania miasta. Skoro architektura to wersja kolorowa oraz B&W będzie odpowiednia.

The first building is located on the southern side of Republic Square. I posted photos of this square in this post.

Pierwszy budynek znajduje się przy południowej części Placu Republiki. Zdjęcia z tego placu pokazałem w tym poście.

A little further south is the 13th-century Church and Monastery of St. Francis, though a white car in the foreground partially distracts the eye. In the background, however, you can see a palm tree and the Adriatic Sea.

Kawałek dalej na południe znajduje się Kościół i klasztor św. Franciszka z XIII wieku, chociaż na pierwszym planie częściowo odwraca uwagę białe auto. Natomiast w tle widać palmę i Morze Adriatyckie.

This time, we’re heading to a spot about 200 meters north of Republic Square. The photo shows the Church of Our Lady of Health.

Tym razem przenosimy się w miejsce oddalone o jakieś 200 metrów na północ od Placu Republiki. Na zdjęciu widzimy Kościół Matki Bożej Zdrowia.

Next to the church is the Croatian National Theater in Split. The building was constructed in 1893; it was destroyed by fire in 1970 and reopened in 1980 after being rebuilt. In front of the building stands the Gajo Bulat Monument.

Obok kościoła znajduje się Chorwacki Teatr Narodowy w Splicie. Budynek powstał w 1893 roku, w 1970 roku zniszczył go pożar, w 1980 roku po odbudowie został ponownie otwarty. Przed budynkiem stoi Pomnik Gajo Bulata.

In general, the center of Split features a variety of buildings from different eras, ranging from Roman times to the present day.

Ogólnie w centrum Splitu znajdziemy różne budynki z różnych epok, od czasów rzymskich po obecne.
