A walk around Szczecin's starry squares

Hello everyone!

On the map of Szczecin you can see several star-shaped squares in the form of roundabouts, from which radiate streets with triangular building plots with beautiful tenement houses. Due to these squares in the city center, Szczecin is called the Paris of the North by some. Apart from these squares, the city is distinguished by its abundance of greenery. During my walk, I visited three such squares, which are located close to each other.

Na mapie Szczecina można zobaczyć kilka gwiaździstych placów w formie rond, od których odchodzą promieniście ulice z trójkątnymi parcelami budowlanymi z pięknymi kamienicami. Ze względu na te place w centrum miasta, Szczecin przez niektórych nazywany jest Paryżem Północy. Poza tymi placami, miasto wyróżnia się dużą ilością zieleni. Podczas swojego spaceru odwiedziłem trzy takie place, które położone są blisko siebie.

Lotników Square. Unlike other round squares, this one is square in shape.

Plac Lotników. W odróżnieniu od pozostałych okrągłych placów, ten jest o kształcie kwadratu.

This square is crossed by Pope John Paul II Avenue and the following streets branch off from it: Jagiellońska, Mazurska, Małopolska and Kaszubska.

Plac ten przecina aleja Papieża Jana Pawła II oraz odchodzą od niego ulice: Jagiellońska, Mazurska, Małopolska oraz Kaszubska.

The photo above and below shows the facades of buildings at Papieża Jana Pawła II Avenue.

Na zdjęciu powyżej oraz poniżej widać fasady budynków przy alei Papieża Jana Pawła II.

On the mentioned avenue there are many different restaurants with gardens, both next to the buildings and the square between the roads. It is a popular place during the summer.

Przy wspomnianej alei znajduje się sporo różnych restauracji z ogródkami zarówno przy samych budynkach jak i placu pomiędzy jezdniami. Jest to popularne miejsce w okresie letnim.

Grunwaldzki Square is the largest square of this type in Szczecin.

Plac Grunwaldzki jest największym tego typu placem w Szczecinie.

The square is crossed by four streets (Papieża Jana Pawła II Avenue, Marszałka Józefa Piłsudskiego Street, Generała Ludomił Rayskiego Street and Śląska Street), which together form eight radii.

Plac ten przecinają cztery ulice (aleja Papieża Jana Pawła II, ulica Marszałka Józefa Piłsudskiego, ulica Generała Ludomiła Rayskiego oraz ulica Śląska), które razem tworzą osiem promieni.

The first two squares shown are surrounded by trees, while inside you can sit and rest on one of the benches.

Dwa pierwsze przedstawione place otoczone są drzewami, natomiast wewnątrz można usiąść i odpocząć na jednej z ławek.

Rebirth Square. Today's third square is slightly smaller than the previous ones.

Plac Odrodzenia. Trzeci dzisiejszy plac jest nieco mniejszy od poprzednich.

This square is crossed by Marszałka Józefa Piłsudskiego Street, Monte Cassino Street and Mazurska Street.

Plac ten przecina ulica Marszałka Józefa Piłsudskiego z ulicą Monte Cassino oraz ulicą Mazurską.

Continuing along Marszałka Józefa Piłsudskiego Street (to the left in the photo), after approximately 160 m there is another Szare Szeregi Square.

Idąc dalej ulicą Marszałka Józefa Piłsudskiego (na zdjęciu w lewo) za ok 160 m znajduje się kolejny plac Szarych Szeregów.
