The cronopio I had tattooed
turned its back
on the cronopio of my shadow.
The city slept.
No one heard
my cries in the early morning
under the star,
where in another city
a sunflower was blooming.
No one knew of my face
peeling off cobblestones
to find
your name on each one.
No one will know of my leaves
stained with blood
as lilies are stained
with the thorns
of your hands.

El cronopio que tenía tatuado
le dio la espalda
al cronopio de mi sombra.
La ciudad dormía.
Nadie escuchó
mis gritos en la madrugada
bajo la estrella,
que en otra ciudad
florecía girasol.
Nadie supo de mi rostro
desprendiendo adoquines
para encontrar
tu nombre en cada uno.
Nadie sabrá de mis hojas
manchadas de sangre
como se manchan las azucenas
con las espinas
de tus manos.
