Like spirals on the capitals of time | PhotoFeed Contest - Street Photography Round 118 [Eng-Esp]

Hello, fantastic beings of #photofeed!

Today I'm stopping by the center of my city to show you one of the main streets that handles the heaviest motor and pedestrian traffic, although at this moment I made an effort to capture it in a calm moment from the daily maelstrom that covers its cobblestones.

This is Colón Street, seen from one of the balconies of what was once the Provincial Palace, now the José Martí Provincial Public Library.

As if named after someone who discovered a new world, this street ends right at the Central Park.

I wanted to take the photos in black and white, from this balcony, with the intention of playing with the neoclassical style of the site and the Ionic style of the columns that support it, combined with the contrast that every black and white photo offers.

Black and white, not because the streets of my city greet us devoid of color, but because as we walk through them, the contrast will make us reflect on those scenes that once saw fit to eliminate secondary scenes, take advantage of clear, cold light with defined contours, and implement finished, uniform surfaces that coexist with specificities like spirals on the capitals of time.

These are the streets of my city, contrasting, supported by columns of thought and action, revealing a spiral of absent and yearned-for capitals on the cobblestones of someone who trusted it would never be this way.

¡Hola seres fantásticos de #photofeed!

Hoy me detengo en el centro de mi ciudad para mostrarles una de las principales calles que soportan el mayor cúmulo de tránsito motor y peatonal de ella, aunque en este instante hice el esfuerzo por capturarla en un momento de calma de esa vorágine que cotidianamente cubre sus adoquines.

Se trata de la calle Colón, vista desde uno de los balcones del que fuese Palacio Provincial, hoy Biblioteca Pública Provincial José Martí.

Como si llevase el nombre de quien descubre un nuevo mundo, esta calle muere en su travesía justo en el parque central.

Quise tomar las fotos en blanco un negro, desde este balcón, con toda intención de jugar con el estilo neoclásico del sitio y el estilo jónico de las columnas que le soportan, sumado al contraste que toda foto en blanco y negro nos obsequia.

Blanco y negro, no porque las calles de mi ciudad nos reciban carentes de color, sino porque al caminar por ellas, el contraste nos hará reflexionar en relación a aquellos escenarios que una vez tuvieron a bien la eliminación de escenas secundarias, el aprovechamiento de una luz clara y fría con sus contornos definidos y la implementación de superficies acabadas y uniformes en convivencia con especificidades cual espirales en los capiteles del tiempo.

Estas son las calles de mi ciudad, contrastadas, sostenidas por columnas de pensamiento y acción, que muestran una espiral de capiteles ausentes y añorados sobre los adoquines de quien confió jamás sería de este modo.
