Zámecký park v Holešově představuje jedinečnou ukázku vývoje zahradní architektury od baroka až po 19. století. Začal vznikat zřejmě po roce 1650, kdy panství Holešov koupil Jan hrabě z Rottalu.
Celá přestavba zámku byla původně koncipována jako klasický vodní zámek, vodní plochy měla hospodářský charakter jako rybníky, zároveň sloužily k odvodnění okolí zámku a vytvořily rezervoár pro vodní příkop.
