My first year celebrating Velita Day in Colombia (ENG-ESP)

Hello, dear friends of this wonderful community. I hope you are all well and have a wonderful weekend filled with beautiful things.

Please excuse my absence, but being in another country is not easy; even though I am with my family, I have been emotionally affected by depression, and sometimes I just want to take a direct flight to Venezuela. I miss my home, my animals, and my comfort, but well, we're taking it one step at a time.

Today I want to share with you what our first day of candles in Colombia was like, a day that is like December 24th for everyone here; everyone lights their candles on the sidewalk in front of their houses and sits down to watch them burn slowly, sharing with family, eating, talking, singing, and setting off fireworks.

It's all very beautiful, and everyone in Colombia prepares their streets to light their candles, asking for wonderful things for the new year. I hope to return to the island next year, because Christmas in Venezuela is the best, without a doubt.

Hola, queridos amigos de esta hermosa comunidad. Espero que todos se encuentren bien y tengan un hermoso fin de semana lleno de cosas hermosas.

Discúlpenme que he estado desaparecida, pero estar en otro país no es fácil; a pesar de que estoy con mi familia, emocionalmente me ha atacado la depresión, donde a veces solo quiero tomar un vuelo directo a Venezuela.

Extraño mi casa, mis animales y mi comodidad, pero bueno, vamos poco a poco. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes lo que fue nuestro primer día de las velitas en Colombia, un día que aquí para todos es como un 24 de diciembre; todos prenden sus velas en la acera de sus casas y se sientan a ver cómo se va consumiendo poco a poco, en eso compartir en familia, comer, hablar, cantar y lanzar fuegos artificiales.

Todo es muy bonito y todos en Colombia preparan sus calles para realizar el encendido de sus velas, pidiendo en cada una cosas hermosas para nuestro nuevo año. Espero el próximo año regresarme a la isla, porque Navidad en Venezuela es la mejor, sin duda alguna.
