I don't know about this. My arms need to move. Miniatures?

Don't complain. Don't explain. Be grateful. FFS I wish I was out of this entire area. Everything in my life from the most personal to all of Southern California... 10 million people? 30 million? Fuck. I can't even walk in this apartment without pissing off the tenants. No fucking privacy anywhere. I can't stand it.

This reminds me of things I saw in an art museum online in the last few years. A woman that had made collages out of found things. They had bits of twigs, petals from dead flower heads, bits of found string and cardboard and nails and the such. It was pretty interesting. I don't remember her name, although I could probably find her sometime.

Also saw a video on youtube of an artist who takes walks and if she sees wrappers or other things folks have discarded, rings off of can drinks or the such, she picks them up and adds them in her art.

Yes!

I like that. I did do some shots of beach junk after the rain storms here. I've nowhere to put any of it so I have to shoot photos on the spot and then just leave it there... I've never had a real studio... i did have enough space to paint and have supplies but never a place to have everything ready to work.

I'd say that this is somehow a moving post, but I keep coming back to the visible statement and language featured within.

"But Nothing Happened".

I want to fight that contradiction that's present here with every fibre of my being. The strokes of paint are intentional. The arrangement is intentional. The fact you posted it here is intentional.

It is always intentional.

I'm typing this comment here, but the work you've shared stares back at me.

"But Nothing Happened".

This is why art galleries aren't open at night, because thought provoking stuff like this would keep people up all night, and we all need our sleep!

Thank you for the best reply I have ever gotten on a post since I got my first computer in 2008. Best isn't really the right word. I'm sorry if can't express my appreciation very well.

I have a terrible aversion to writing. I get lost quickly when I start typing with 2 fingers. It's too slow. Social media has been a very weird experience for me. Getting caught up in thinking and explaining... I have a nostalgia/saudade for the old days when I was painting large works and having some shows and just talking a bit to people. Now I'm struggling to start painting again from zero. Basically losing everything and having no supplies, space or place to work in. Oh oh. I better stop going down that rabbit hole.

Yes. Every bit of it was thought out and selected intentionally. Not entirely cognitively at some level or is it in every aspect. I love that you see that and wrote about it.

thank you

See, this is why I love HIVE :) This is why I love Art. (Yes, capital A Art).

I am glad I made a difference in your day. Keep sharing your work. Keep creating. I know too well even myself what a panacea creation can be.

I know that flow state you talk about. It's the best experience.
