Sunday morning at Masjid Jamek's and Ampang's LRT station

I had to go to Ampang last Sunday. But I need to take public transport from Ara Damansara to Ampang. It has been more than 10 years since I last took a mode of public transport from another section to the other section of the city.

Before I go to the LRT station, I went to Shazz, a local Mamak restaurant for a quick breakfast. I ordered a cup of the tarik and roti telur bawang for breakfast. The reason why I ordered a roti telur bawang because I am expecting that is the fastest menu that can be prepared fast.

In the end, I need to wait for about 40 minutes before getting my breakfast 😅. Luckily I was not in rush to go to Ampang.

Teh tarik is a popular hot milk tea beverage. It is made from a strong brew of black tea blended with condensed milk. It is the national drink of Malaysia. >> Wikipedia Source Link <<

Roti telur bawang is another variation of Roti Canai. The difference was the additional onion and egg on top of the roti canai.

Roti canai is an Indian flatbread dish found in several countries in Southeast Asia, especially in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Brunei. >> Wikipedia Source Link <<

After having my breakfast, my wife sent me to Ara Damansara LRT station. To get to Ampang, I need to change from Kelana Jaya lane to Ampang lane. This means I need to change between two trains.

I need to embanrk at Ara Damansara LRT station, then change the tren at an interchange station at Masjid Jamek LRT station. From Masjid Jamek, I need to go to Ampang-Sentul platform, and lastly, I need to disembark at Ampang LRT station.

This photograph was taken at Masjid Jamek LRT interchange station. The station is an elevated platform. The Kelana Jaya lane is situated in the basement and from the basement, I need to disembark the tren and take the stair to the upper platform to enter the interchange station.

At the upper platform, I walk to the edge of the station and took this photograph. Masjid Jamek station is located in the middle of Kuala Lumpur city. From the station, I can see the old federal court and several iconic buildings.

The traveling time taken from Masjid Jamek station to Ampang station was approximately around 30 minutes. Ampang station is an old station. I used to travel there during my college days.

I studied in Ampang in the year 2004 until the year 2006. For the first semester, I have no other option than to travel from my house to the college using public transport.

However, during that time, the Kelana Jaya lane and Ampang-Sentul lane does not exist yet. I need to take a bus from Masjid Jamek station and stop at Ampang station.

Now it is much more convenient because all of the inter-region stations are now interconnected.

Down memory lane indeed, at least for me. I was among the first batch of customer service staff hired to help commuters traveling on the Star Line (that was what it used to be called then). I am talking about when the train was first operational in 1997. I was stationed at Ampang Station, and later transferred to Pudu and Plaza Rakyat. I have not ridden any of those trains for many years already.
